For those worried about the Tier 2 requirement that pubs may only serve drinks with a substantial meal -

That may be a benefit in that we might lower our tier eventually, I would imagine most tier 2s will move to tier 3 quite quickly.

I can’t get my head around what can and cant happen. We’ve booked a drive through Christmas event, it’s outside of Staffordshire. Can we go?

It says try to limit travel but not that you can’t travel, I think probably we’ll end up giving the tickets away but would we be breaking the law if we did go but didn’t actually get out of the car?

You aren't supposed to travel if you are in tier 3.

Yes but.....

from the Gov.uk website - one else again things are as clear as mud!
  • “you can continue to travel to venues or amenities which are open, but should aim to reduce the number of journeys you make where possible”

We won’t be going, I’ve given them to a friend that lives down the road, our kids go to the same school but her address is a Shropshire one.

I’m disappointed even though I knew booking things would be a risk. We haven’t been anywhere. No eat out to help out. No trips to the pub, no meeting friends for coffee (I have met only one friend one time this year)

We have followed all the rules and the things we have booked were all with social distancing and minimal risk considered, just wanted to keep some Christmas magic going for the kids.

Nevermind, I might have my nails done, get a tattoo and have a mooch round primark instead.

Enjoying a drop of red.
What the fcuk is Staffordshire bundled in with Stoke for?

No breakdown of where the Covid hotspots are in the county, so there are no actual facts, just supposition.

No targets to meet in order to move from one tier to another, all seemingly at the whim of Smirkeygobshite and his band of incompetents.

Who will be too blame when it all goes wrong? Us, not them.

Testing my eyesight maybe? With the help of all the twinkly Christmas lights!

One thing I can apparently you do is book a flight to the Canary Islands, only if I travel directly to the airport though.

But what is a ‘legitimate’ reason?
Maybe going for a drive to test your eyesight.
If the government was serious about tackling coronavirus it would close all schools and colleges except on the Isle of Wight and in Cornwall and on the Isles of Scilly.

You can go to work

Almost anywhere
