Euro car parks

OMYA

A few posts under my belt
Hi
I have used the euro car parks (opposite Iceland) on 24/12/2020 at 6 pm and the machine just wouldn't accept the payment, either cash or card, so I went to sainsburys and came back to the car at 6:18. Now I received a penalty of £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days). Any advice will be much appreciated.

These are the experts: http://www.pepipoo.com/ They should be able to provide the appropriate advice.

If you go the forum you will see that they provide an immense amount of advice on parking charges. It is important to undersatnd that the advice is tailored to each car parking company, and sometimes car park, so you need to follow the appropriate advice for Euro Car Parks if you want your £100 charge to be quashed.

Good luck, although with their success rate your pretty much guaranteed to win (if you follow their advice).

Oh, and quick search reveals that this car park is known to them.

Thanks for the reply. I will check the link and see what I can do.
Be aware that there is an expectation that you use their website to research what you need to do, which is often a carefully worded letter, based on a combination of their standard paragraphs/sentences, tailored to your unique circumstances. Don't expect someone to completely draft your letter for you.

Once you've got your draft, you can post it (minus any personal details, of course) and you will get feedback on any appropriate tweaks, before you send it off.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I’m surprised that you actually left your car in a car park knowing it wasn’t possible to pay for a ticket and that you ran the risk of a fine.

If you have proof of attempting to make payment in the manner dictated by company and them not accepting it (video of the ticket machine not accepting cash or card) And them not accepting it. I can't see a court in the land upholding there "fine" or parking invoice as you have attempted to fulfil your side of the agreement but have been frustrated in doing so by the other party. I'm no legal expert but how can it be right that the party that refuses payment then profits from that refusal? Does anybody on here believe a fine is fair in this case?

Had a parking charge from the Guildhall car park. I attempted to pay contactless. I thought it has all gone through ok. Obviously I was wrong. Wont be parking there again.

I've recently received two parking charge notices for parking at the Sun Inn in which they tried to charge me £100 each.

I took great pleasure in telling Parking Eye to shove their tickets where the sun doesn't shine.

As a result of the covid19 proceedures, i was i able to confirm that I was drinking at the Sun Inn very easily because of the requirement to sign in with a staff member on entry, track and trace and because all purchases had to be paid by a bank card.

Why didn't parking eye carry out some simple checks before wasting their time issuing two tickets to me?!

They hoped that you would just roll over and pay.
