And I guess that's to stop the idiots driving 100 miles to the Lakes or something, because without the arbitrary rules people would (and still do). I can walk round the golf course with a friend but I can't play...

I don’t think supermarkets will do the whole queueing thing again, not in this weather (unless they splash out on some marquees) as nobody will want to queue in the cold and rain.

However other than that, aren’t they already doing what they did before? The one-way system was a shitshow anyway as you ended up having to pass more people to get round to the other end of an aisle.

There's too many people in most of them to socially distance effectively. I think I might go late at night again.

Apparently exercise must be local. You cannot drive somewhere and then exercise...

yes I heard "stay in own town/village"

What if you walked to Derrington/Haughton or a long walk to Gnosall or vice versa, let's face it there's not exactly much in Derrington, at least you have some shops in Haughton.

Will they come?? Patrols on the lines? Stop and search for your I.D??

Or does it all count as Stafford? even those these places are seperate "villages"

Think i'm just going to Hibernate on supermarkerts whatever you do, don't go in the morning upto around 2pm because of the online shoppers... unless it's very early then it's not so bad if it's just them and a few customers..

Enjoying a drop of red.
My surgery has just posted on Facebook that they aren't cancelling any second vaccine appointments already booked in.
My folks still haven't been contacted about their first jab yet and their surgery's online page basically says don't call us, we'll call you!

My Dad hasn't had his call either - he did ring up before Christmas and was told they'd do it in alphabetical order, so I'm hoping they might have got towards the end of the alphabet this week.

He is at a different surgery to me.

I thought the rule was you had to stay local as much as you can whilst enjoying to your exercise. If this is correct I would expect a short drive to the Chase or a walk along the Isobel trail would fit this description.

If you don't enjoy to your exercise I presume you can travel as far as you want :)

Driving for exercises is ok as long as you stay "local". so a drive to the chase for example from Stafford, Cannock, Penkridge would be lawful and reasonable for exercise but doing the above for other reasons I.e a picnic would breach the rules. or that's my understanding.

Where I am, we have a set radius to 'exercise' in - currently, it's 5km.

This - https://2kmfromhome.com/ - is surprisingly accurate at 'guessing' your location where I am, but I believe that it will also work on the Big Island, although you'll have to set the pin yourself, probably - and you can also vary the radius to suit changing circumstances.

Postcodes here define the actual building, so it would be quite easy for officialdom to check your radius from home fairly upon challenging you. Not that there's many people out and about round here.

I am considering the possibility of leaving the premises tomorrow, for the first time in a week - we'll see how the milk holds out, that's the defining parameter...

Pleased to say sons covid test he had yesterday has just come back negative .

Had my lateral flow test this morning ...also negative result. Also had the pleasure of meeting @FooFighter :)
Also met a baggies mate working there , who had to get to work using her phone to scan and sign me in . (Just my phone being a crap one then, not me being totally crap at using one ;) )
Well organised , and test done in a bigger and more open space in the building than the lab based test in November , which was in a smaller room.

Went to collect my Tesco click & collect order beforehand. Car park for the store was rather fuller than it usually is on at 10am on a Tuesday morning, so I suspect the shop was packed.

Total chaos at click & collect , as Tesco systems had crashed as soon as Boris did his announcement last night.
They had no paperwork available at all, and a first reckoned I hadn't got a collection booked. Seeing my email and a call to customer services, resulted in them finding a few items on a lorry, but missing all my frozen stuff, booze and salad stuff . But charged for all the items I didn't get. At least customer services are now supposed to be refunding the £60 worth of stuff that's hanging around somewhere, invoiced but no-where to be seen.

If anyone else ends up with my strongbows, beers, a freezer full of frozen stuff, and a few extra bits and bobs as a freebie in their car boot....enjoy!

Roads were quieter than normal .

On a more important note, are takeaways still allowed to operate?

Sons place was going to carry on doing both delivery and takeouts.

But he's just messaged to say it's going to delivery only after tonight. He got promotion to salaried pay on Friday just in time!

Jolly good! It would be unusual if it came back positive after having it, as if antibodies from getting it did nothing then the vaccine would be pretty useless.

I just got a letter from a consultant instructing me to attend Barnstaple Hospital for a CT Scan after he examined my blood tests. For three months I've been losing weight rapidly (9stone 2lbs on the scales this morning and feeling fatigued.) Problem is it's on Saturday afternoon and it's 30 miles away, so I'm worried about lockdown enthusiastic cops PNC checking my car as I pass by and then pulling me over to see why I'm that far from home. Coppers tend to hover around the Barnstaple by-pass as they have lots of laybys to lurk in. Perhaps it'll get cancelled.

(I wonder if Steve McQueen would have lent me that Mustang from Bullitt !!) :P
