What are we watching on TV?

Finding Alice on ITV on Sunday was excellent, and I am very much looking forward to It's a Sin on Channel 4 on Friday.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Banshee.
A semi-psychopathic con man gets out of jail after 15 years and by a strange set of circumstances gets to be sheriff of a small town called Banshee.
The town is run by a ruthless Amish gangster (I shit you not.)
There are also some nasty native Americans running the local casino.
An utterly ruthless Russian Mafia boss is hunting the new sheriff for previous transgressions and betrayals.
The sheriff's pre-jail time girl friend and a daughter live in the town and she is married to the DA. The daughter is the Sheriffs, which he didn't know about.
One of the sheriffs main sidekicks is a transgender martial arts trained brilliant computer hacker.
The new sheriff's approach to upholding the law makes Dirty Harry look like Mother Teresa.

I think the writers must be on something, (maybe weapons grade plutonium ) but I can't deny you never know what's going to happen next and it does make for compulsive viewing. :o

A Banshee is an Irish folklore spirit who heralds death. Believe me this town is well named. :lorks:
All that needs is one of your asteroids, plummeting towards earth and you've got the full set.

Finding Alice on ITV on Sunday was excellent.

We've recorded that but will wait until the series has finished and then watch them in one go.
We're doing that with a few series that are currently on TV.
I don't have the patience any more to wait a week to watch another episode.

Well, I've finished Sorry, I'm a Stranger here Myself - it had got going quite nicely when it ended. The 'ethnic humour' might cause issues today, although, as is often the case, it's actually about the locals struggling with the cultural differences, more than 'racist' in real terms.

There must have been another, similar sit-com around the same time - I seem to think that I remember the punk lodger being frequently referred to as Chingachgook, but that didn't seem to happen...

I've moved onto The Living Planet now, for a while. Rather poignant to have Mr Attenborough discussing tsunamis and the Indian Ocean fault, not knowing how it was to affect his family in the future.

Is anyone watching It's a Sin? After the first episode I didn't think I'd be able to cope with more than one a week, but here we are 5 days later and I've just watched episode 3. It is going to be a series that stays with me for a very long time.

I really want to watch this, but the carer isn't interested. It's on my list as soon as I have the house back to myself and he's unfurloughed.

Husband and I don’t always want to watch the same things.
I’m a late bird so I watch things when he’s gone to bed.

He watches things on a Saturday afternoon, whereas I don’t ever watch TV in daylight. It’s against my personal rules.

It’s a marriage that works.

But we both did watch 3 episodes of Bridgeton last night.

OH (I really need to find another term) keeps saying he won't watch series^, so with only 1* TV in the house I've missed out on a lot recently, but I've just started putting stuff on then if he doesn't like it he can watch something on his tablet.

^not including The Simpsons, Wheeler Dealers or any Ed Stafford series of course.

*We have a TV with a Chromecast hooked up to it in the portion of the garage the turbo trainers are in. So the last 2 nights I've checked for 50 minutes whilst watching an episode.

We give each other’s TV viewing a chance and we take it in turns because we’d rather watch tv together if we can

We take it in turns, ..... “I’d like to watch this” so the other person gives it one episode.
If, after that we don’t agree then we watch independently.

But some of the things that the husband has suggested, that I’d never in a million years chosen to watch, have been brilliant.

He thinks the same about things that I’ve chosen, it works both ways.

Mountain BBC4 on Tuesday night.
Set against classical music and poetical narration from Willem Defoe (who has the perfect voice for it) an hour of stunning helicopter/drone photography and film that captures the appeal of these rugged landscapes. Does include some disturbing views of extreme sports types, including one shot where I'm sure you're actually seeing one them being killed for his efforts. :|
If you're not happy with heights you might find it hard going in places.
Looking at the credits it's been shot all over the world.

Lupin is proper good.

It's like Sherlock and Killing Eve had a one night stand in Paris, and then just shat a story line out of it.
