The Picture House.

We called in last week because the Bird had no power and yes they've done a good job of the décor but no more than if they'd maintained the ceiling properly anyway.

In terms of Tier 3, this place will be the main reason for closing Stafford down if we escalate to Tier 3!! There were students running around with masks round their chins, hugging and kissing others outside of their group of six, no semblance of social distancing and to top it all we saw two staff members lowering their masks within a metre of a table so that the lads could see what the barmaids looked like.

We left for the safety of the Devil's Taphouse after one drink.

Good on ya Tim, you tosser!!!

Has the PH survived the current inundation unscathed?

Just seen this

they need to stop building houses everywhere it's only going to get worse

there's a new development nearish to me "the fairway" where the old GE/alstom site was, lots of new houses being planned, near a river/field that floods, i'm sure that'll make it so much better only so much water the flood plain can handle until it goes overboard....

keep it up, build more houses, we'll all be needing sandbags in 10 years

More houses more water going into the river, bigger floods yearly

Enjoying a drop of red.

Houses built on brownfield sites aren't really the problem though, as there was something their before. In this case a large building and a huge car park, neither of which contributed positively to land drainage.

You general point is sound, though.

Shocking. Whoever could have seen that coming...

Indeed after last time, I thought maybe flood defenses would be able to do something, obviously not

When are they going to give up with it?

I mean it's only going to get worse in the future

It isn't as bad as the last flood I've heard, still not brilliant though.

With every flood, rising insurance costs not only due to flood damage, but the liability of leaving such a premises unattended for months at a time, and lack of custom due to covid , how long before the plugs pulled on the place I wonder ? :(

Shame really, as it'll be another town centre establishment left to rot.

The new Wetherspoons waterfall feature seems to be working well.

I wonder if they will rename it as the Water Pitcher House?

The Waterhouse is one of the better Spoons' venues and we use it quite a lot en route to United.
Yes, but better than Tim's Piccadilly one isn't saying much !
In 'normal times' i get to Manchester quite often and spent four nights there during 2019.
If I've arrived from Stafford in the morning I'll usually have breakfast and a pint or two in Duttons, a Lees pub by the Town Hall, dearer but much better than any of Tim's venues.

I was referring to Spoons' pubs in general not just those in Manchester and I was certainly not comparing Spoons to any other pubs in Manchester.

Okay, and this is hardly the topic for discussing Tim's venues across the country and/or Manchester's many great pubs.
