Just finished Bridgerton last night, absolutely loved it.
Only started watching to see what all the fuss was about and thought the first episode was a bit slow and took time to get going.

But once the characters started to develop I thought it just wonderful. Quite the Regency bonkfest actually.

I finished The Living Planet last night, I'm all wilded out for a bit now.

I have an urge to watch The Beiderbecke Trilogy (yet) again, it seems to get better every time.

We’re two episodes in of Finding Alice and I’m not sure whether to persevere or not.
I’m finding it a bit slow. Slightly curious to find out the back story of the husband but I’m finding the character of Alice incredibly annoying.
She’s rude and I find her behaviour uncomfortable to watch (although I do like Keeley Hawes who plays the part).

I’m just wondering what your thoughts are on whether you enjoyed the rest of the series?

I don't know what it's trying to be, a dark comedy or a drama. If you have better things to watch do.

I watched the remaining four episodes last night of Finding Alice and although I got into it and quite enjoyed it I was a little frustrated that it was left left unfinished. It looks like there might be a Series 2 then.

Watching a re-run of Band of Brothers on Sky. Co-produced by Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks it's in the style of Saving Private Ryan, gritty, harsh and shocking. This series is based on real events and real characters, some of whom were still alive when it was made and give a few comments about their experiences at the beginning of each episode.
I was particularly struck by a line at the end of the episode I just watched (which incidentally was directed by Tom Hanks) when Captain Winters (played by Damien Lewis) is instructed to take his men up to the Belgian town of Bastogne because of a German offensive in late 1944, which became known as the Battle of the Bulge.
He was advised that German armour was moving rapidly to the south of the town and he might find himself surrounded. He replied: "We're paratroopers, we're supposed to be surrounded."

And surrounded they were, and had a very hard time of it.

I binge watched Firefly Lane, a new one on Netflix the other day, it was ok. Perfect for a duvet day which I very much needed.

An old one but a good one, we’ve just discovered Catastrophe on All4 very funny, I’m not sure how we missed it first time around.

River Cottage, complete blast from the past, started it thinking they were all available on catch up only to discover that for some reason it skips from season 3 to season 12 which is disappointing.

I’ve got to agree. It’s a really good, hard hitting series made all the more real by the “interviews” with survivors.
What channel/time is it on? I used to have the original series saved on my old Virgin box but lost it when the box packed in. I’ve looked for it a few times since but can only find it for sale on Virgin store.

It's on Sky Atlantic on a Friday night at 9pm and is about halfway through the series. I'm pretty sure it's available on Sky On Demand also.

Ah thanks. We’re on Virgin & can’t get Atlantic (typical, we get all the other Sky channels).
It’s available on demand with Virgin at £2-49 per episode :ohno:

Just watched all five episodes over two nights.
I thought it was absolutely brilliant, superb writing, and wonderfully acted.

I was in my 20’s in the era that it was set (the 80’s), I can remember all the issues and worries of the time, doesn’t seem like it was 35 years ago though.
How times and attitudes have changed.
