Just found this, looking for something else. On Good Friday '78, when Santana was playing the Showground, the Vibrators were playing the Poly canteen - and it was a cheap spirits night. So, obviously, we were on quadruple Southern Comforts, to avoid wasting time in the queue. I remember most of the first half of the night, including the nice policeman suggesting that we eased it off a bit. I woke up very slowly the next morning, shivering, and with a throbbing, roaring noise in my head. The ceiling in my room was primrose yellow, but when I risked opening one eye I could only see blue. I tried the other - still blue. I panicked and decided I'd got to get help before my vision went altogether. So I forced myself to open both eyes - and then the branches of the tree came into focus.
