Some people find the idea of walking so hideous they never do it and refuse to walk further than a few yards. I refuse to pay for parking so im more of a park and ride kinda person. And the rides kinda like walking. Cause it is....

Told some mates we'd walked to derrington one Sunday afternoon for a beer, they stared at me in disbelief. I think the only reply I got was "Why?". Strangely the idea of cycling to wales doesn't seem weird to them though!

Walking along the old railway line is quite pleasant - How was the Red Lion? Not been in for years

Start out earlier, and take a hike even further, Feck' it, go the whole hog to Gnosal! You could even go on ya bike! That part of the Isabel Line is lovely.

Noticed the computer shop had gone myself today. I don't think anyone minds the pedestrianisation, but the time it takes is the issue. How many months have they been working on Mill Street now anyway? Plus, you can't drive into town now, and the directions are so confusing. At the roundabout near the picture house and the old post office, I tried turning round completely so as to avoid the roads I'm not supposed to go down. The first time I tried, I had to reverse, the second time, I had to go in the pavement, and I've only got a Focus estate.

I am looking at possibly renting the old computer shop, as it used to be a model shop years ago, but trying to find out who owns what in Stafford is job in itself sometimes.

the signage is so confusing i'd much prefer "Do not pass this line between 07:00 and 23:00 " and then put a stat on them.....

Hello, sld. That shop was called something like 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles', like the film, but in a different order. It was there for two or three years in the 90s.

You could try to catch Ricky in at The Bizness, next door - it might be the same landlord...

He's never there on a Wednesday, or half the time on other days..

I believe the police have been nabbing people? Yes it is confusing and I believe it would be a justified defence. I guess henrys cat will put me right on that.

The signage is difficult enough to interpret on foot - an out-of-town driver would really struggle..

Weren't the police giving people tickets where they were going from the mini-roundabout into South Walls? At that point the signs for South Walls are very clear . If you're coming from Mill Bank there's a sign at the roundabout to indicate all traffic must turn right into Bridge Street except buses/taxis. I think its reasonable to expect drivers to know a) what a turn right sign means and b) if they're driving a bus/taxi or not...

There is the question of whether a lot of traffic should even be getting as far as the roundabout, but then there is advance signing as far back as Victoria Road which indicates there is a restriction.

Just ashame the police didn't enforce it sooner.

However it could be read that the thru' route ends at the new roundabout at the junction of tenterbanks and water street.......

It's very well being able to read the signs from the 'comfort' of the Arriva No. 8 but if you are driving you have other things to concentrate on. If you knock down a pedestrian then I doubt 'i was trying to decipher the signs' will have much effect on the Police or Judge...

If the judge in question had to drive to, then park in, Stafford he/she may have much sympathy!

Not to mention the foul mood their lordship would be in after driving round trying to find a parking space.

Is it true that they have had to reroute a bus because it can no longer negotiate the corner of one of the streets? If thats true so much for integrated transport ?
