Have you seen Jeremy Lefroy in Stafford?

I know on another thread it was raised about having a spot Jeremy Lefroy competition but in all honesty I've not seen him in Stafford.

I know opinion was divided about DK but you always saw him about. He actually lived in the town.

Does anybody else have the same concern or is it me?

He dosen't appear much in the free papers either.

This is something that annoys me, I don't think you should be allowed to be an MP for an area you don't actually live in. That home should also be your primary residence for all commons purposes, and any claiming for duck ponds, moat cleaning etc. should only be allowed for your London home. If you choose not to live in London, then you shouldn't get an allowance for living away from home. Grr!

Anyway, as for the MP, never seen the fella. Didn't DK have an office on Friars Terrace you could hassle him at?

Agreed, DK just did what he was told. He didn't even turn up for the discussions on the DEB, yet happily voted for it. At least you could shout at him for it though!

Seen him a couple of times in Baswich - once at the Community Group's AGM and the other time he was walking the Safer Routes to School route on the morning school run. Other than that, not seen him out and about..

Enjoying a drop of red.
I emailed Lefroy last year about something and received a speedy and useful response. I also saw him at hustings in the run-up to the election where he impressed and had a lengthy chat with him when he was canvassing in my street. Certainly at the time he came across much better than DK.

DK was a toady and utterly disgraced himself over the hospital fiasco when he proclaimed after he did a fortnights work experience there, that the most important thing he had found was that the hospital was not meeting its recycling targets. (then the news that many folk had already guessed broke re the appalling treatment and needless deaths). The man just couldn't face up to it.

Even when quizzed off the record (he lives near me and we occasionally were in the same railway carriage on a Monday morning), he just couldn't see it.

But I've not seen Lefroy since the election, which is a bit of a let-down to be honest. His profile seems to be non-existent in the town at the moment. If I were advising him I'd be recommending he sorts that pretty pronto. He needs to be seen around and publicly promoting Stafford. The years leading up to the next election are going to be very tough for the Cons, if he is to stand any chance of re-election it will need to be because of a strong personal vote for a hard-working local MP. The way it stands at the moment I'm afraid he'll be toast.

Not to late though, Jeremy, get yourself out and about.
