No post for a while? Royal mail Stafford problems?

I got my last outstanding parcel today too, sounds like stuff's starting to shift along again - hopefully!

I'm still waiting for 2 items that were posted on the 2nd December from Firebox. No failed delivery card from Royal Mail but went by the sorting office anyway to see if they had any record of it. The lady kindly went through all her records (handwritten book - why they don't use a computer system is beyond me) searching for me but no sign of anything

I tried contacting Firebox customer services to see if they could send out replacements as new deliveries are getting through and got a recorded message basically apologising for delays in delivery but there was nothing they could do about it & if your orders don't arrive before Christmas then to get in touch next week & they'll deal with it after the festive period! Very unhelpful!

It looks like I'll have to make an emergency trip out to buy replacement tomorrow :(

Had the first post for over a week today. I've been waiting for a electricity meter I got free from NPower for weeks now.

As for posties not being able to use bikes, have they not heard of snow stud tyres? with a set of those on the bike it's a more reliable form of transport than any car or van.

Had a right load of post the past couple of days - some of it postmarked three times and going back to 17th December. Christmas Private Eye finally turned up amongst it as well.

How do I edit this?
Did anyone else see the article in yesterday's Express and Star about the Stafford postie who'd stolen £500 from Christmas and birthday cards? I wanted to link to it, but I can't find it on the E&S website for anything...

Scum should've been sent down, not only for nicking the stuff but for trying to make the other postmen and women at the delivery office look crooked.

Thieving ****, shame there isn't a photo. Having lost a few items in the post I'd like to let him know what I think about it. And suspended sentence FFS, what's the point?

If he'd done that in some middle eastern country they would have cut off a hand. We're too soft on people in this country.

He's doubly stupid, firstly for moving into a new house then realising he couldn't afford it (didn't do his sums) and secondly for stealing.

This must explain why my holiday documents which were posted last January took until end of April/May to appear through my letter box, with the envelope partially torn open! :/

In the Middle Ages, when amputation was not only a punishment but also a very common medical procedure, those that had surgically lost limbs used to carry with them written confirmation that they were not criminals. Not many people could read in Merrie Olde Englande. Ah, the good olde days.
