British Pathe clips of Stafford area

Whilst undertaking some research for a work project I stumbled across some old British Pathe footage of the Stafford area plus Alton Towers and Trentham Gardens. Note the amusements at Alton Towers.

The website is www.britishpathe.com and the links I found are below. If they don't work do a search for Staffordshire and you should find them hopefully. For some reason I intermittently get an X Box advert instead of the clip.

If you click on the small rectangle the clip appears as full screen.

Very interesting - thanks for sharing! I love seeing these old pictures and videos of Stafford.
The videos tend to start when the xbox ad finishes.

Marvellous stuff. I may go into the High House tomorrow and suggest that they put those pin-ups back..

So come on with those points!! ......
Thanks for all the fish, I mean points =)

I was wondering if the students in the seance were still around or if anyone knows of them. It sounds like they were quite sucessful.

It looks like the High House was used as student accomodation in the 60s which I wasn't aware of.

None of the names rang a bell with me, I'm afraid.

Interesting clip of the Hixon accident and the commentator stating "The majority of railmen consider these crossings to be perfectly safe"

This type of crossing and User Worked Crossings cause most of the crossing incidents we have today in this country .

I also found train crash clip at Great Bridgeford http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=3083
