Poppy Burners Get Fined £50.00

The person who burnt poppies and chanted 'British Soldiers Burn in Hell' all the way through the two minutes silence has been fined £50.00!

I bet I wouldn't have got off so lightly if I had burnt the Koran!

*Which flies in the face of gypsies generally breeding like rabbits anyway, so why would they need more?

They were charged under the Public Order Act, whereas if you burned the Koran you'd probably be charged under the Racial and Religious Hatred Act which would certainly land you in hotter water.

Not really comparable though is it? Though to be fair, had i been there i may have been moved to a couple of Public Order offences of my own.

This offense should have been tried under the Racial and religious Hatred Act as well because the sole aim was to incite hatred of Muslims which in turn would make it easier to radicalise the members of that group.

This wasn't just an ordinary protest it was designed to promote maximum outrage and hatred of that religious group and yes, as an agnostic, I do consider it as bad as burning the Koran or Bible.

While you may argue that "hatred of Muslims" is a possible outcome of the protest, it would have been impossible to prove it was the intent.

You may think the law an ass but there is simply no way a prosecution could have been successful under the Racial and Religious Hatred Act in this case.

None of this makes him any less of a tw*t, i hasten to add.

Of course you are right though it pains me to say it!

I get a little wound up about this because I take it personally.

The worst thing about it is that I agree with him about the war!

Don't think there actions were really well thought out. The freedom they have to carry out such an act was fought for, and continues to be fought for, by just the people the poppy is meant to remind you of. I don't fear any muslim, just like any jew, atheist etc, etc.

Not to mention an estimated 20,000 of the WW1 dead were Muslims, another 10-15,000 in WW2 along with an estimated 1,500,000 civilian casualties many of whom would also have been Muslim.

Don't these people know anything? Time and a place.

Stories like this really rile me, but I think it's just absolutely criminal that out boys fighting on the front line still pay their taxes along with the rest of us .... £800 of which goes into this bastards pocket every month for doing sod all!!!

Unfortunatley we have extremists on all sides, we have right wing jews, jihadists and good old Westbro baptist Church, (now they are weird). I wonder if they get a disproportionate amount of news coverage.

hear hear what i want to know is he was on 800 amonth plus said worked as a engineer. and said if we were willing to dish out benefits he would take them. but if your british lose your home and job your treated like shit from dole office
