Money well spent. Twice over?

Noticed that this lunchtime.

What on earth are they thinking?

It's bad enough changing it, but once people are used to it and they change it back it just creates even more problems.

working in the public sector, as i do, and having previously worked in the private sector for 14 years, i can confirm that this can certainly be true more often than not.. not all the time, or for every employer, obviously - but my experience of the public sector would definitely support this..
Working at a uni for a few weeks gave me an insight into some of the odd balls who can work outside of the private sector. The guy I reported to used to take his family to skiing resorts out of season as it was really cheap. He also made his family sit in the car for 10-20 minutes outside a car park to wait for the cheaper off peak rate to come into force.

Nope, you cue wrong. The undoing of it would make the still yet to be revealed FoI request all the more interesting and would be interested in why it was undone.

Henryscat- wtf! You still cannot admit that you are wrong (quite often). Utterly ridiculous.... Makes me wonder how much it costs to make "right" and then "wrong" decisions! I think this just makes a good example of your thoughts on previous posts...

he only ever questioned the questioners.

All: What a waste of money, yah boo sucks.
henryscat: Ask why it was done.
John: I have done just that.
henryscat: It could've been done for x, y, z reasons - I'm as interested as anyone.
All: You are always sticking up for the (insert often misattributed public body here) council.
henryscat: I'm not sticking up for them, I just think there must be a reason behind the decision - I'm as interested as anyone to know what it is.
All: Now they've gone and reversed the whole thing. Ha! Stick that in your pope and smike it Chat d'Henry!
henryscat: I wonder why they did that?
All: Jeffing hypocrite! (i've often effed but never jeffed - it feels good)

On a side note - welcome back zakkwylde87, long time no see - you alright? :)

Enjoying a drop of red.
I've sent in another FOI request requesting details of the reasons behind the addition of the lines and their subsequent removal, together with the costs involved. I make it they have until 1 July to reply, if they can be bothered.

Still no reply to the first one?

Nope, have given up on that so tried a different route this time in the hope of success.

I suppose you could always visit the office and ask. It's a lot harder to ignore a body standing in your office.

Err because we were right all along and you were wrong. But I think deep down we all knew that.

Yet again you prove your inability to read and comprehend.

Well as soon as I saw it I thought it was a waste of time and given the amount of people who drive over the lines I think most people agree.

If the lane isn't wide enough then widen it. There's plenty of land between the roads to sort that out.

I can only assume that Wildwood residents have complained and there's been a lot of traffic building up.

Its just bad driving regardless of what people think, if the road markings have changed then they should still drive according to the markings not "what I've always done".

The mistake may well have been just to rely on markings to change a layout, rather than physically changing kerb lines. But then changing kerbs is significantly more expensive.

Given the lines are not solid you can go over them.

It looks to me more like an experiment, the council trying out a change and seeing if it helps or not. If not then remove them. I wish I had that sort of money to experiment with.
