are bald women beautiful

Right I know this may be a wierd topic but as a bald women I have put up with bullying, nasty looks and comments etc. Most people class bald women as either cancer suffers or ugly and manish I am neither. I suffer from alopicia and have done for years and I was just wondering what you think, is bald beautiful?

Alopecia is like a lot of other 'oddities', some people will refer to it in such a way as to use it to compensate for their own inadequacy. At one of my many schools there was a lad with alopecia and he had a really hard time. These things can change over time, but only if the boundaries are pushed by the pioneers.

It's not quite in the same league, but I spent some time on Tuesday looking through the PandA House window having commented that forty years ago you would hardly ever see a woman wearing trousers - now women wearing dresses are very much in the minority, even more so than I thought. Things can change.

Unfortunately what is considered 'beautiful' is very much governed by the media and they promote women with full heads of hair!

I have met a couple of very attractive women who were bald so for me it's not the baldness that is the deciding factor.

I really hope so because I think a lot of issues are down to awareness or should I say lack of. I find its the adults that are cruel about it rather than the kids.

I don't have a problem with it at all, even if you had chosen to go bald. Heck from what i've heard a lot of guys think it's sexy lol.
My view if you are nice on the inside it always shows through on the outside regardless of what you look like.

I find it sad and wonder how people dont actually wonder how they sound when they judge people purely on looks, especially as a snap judgement.
I've probably shaved my head since I was about 22 as I was losing mine and didnt want a comb over! Personal choice on my behalf as well as the way nature made me. If you can deal with your own issues and not bother anybody why should small minded individuals with nothing more to worry about criticise, bully or pick you out? It makes you stronger and makes you realise how fickle others are IMHO!

Hair or no hair, an idiot is an idiot. And looks can never make up for bad life choices, no matter how 'hot' you believe yourself to be. Personality = so much more important :)

Headbanging isn't as fun when you're bald... On the positive side: no brushing/combing, no styling, no hair getting everywhere possible in your home, no hassle - I think baldness wins!

Bexley18 you have a lovely face and people who are rude/cruel to you are just not worth worrying about. Keep smiling, you really do look lovely.

Aww thanks so much and as for head banging... its fun watching peoples faces when you whip ya head back and ya wig goes flying!

Sorry Bexley the first thing I noticed and thought, who stole the other half of your frames :)

On a serious note though look at gail porter, what she went through for years. Yes bald women are beautiful and yes I do find bald women attractive.
