I would recommend the fish pakora starter and the Modu lamb.
Ha, having looked at the menu, those are exactly what I've decided upon for my first meal there.. whenever that may be (soon I hope). Glad they're good!

Had a meal there on Friday night and really enjoyed it but I thought it might be worth mentioning that the 50% offer is only available Sunday to Thursday...

Also had a fantastic meal here last week. Definitely on a par or maybe even slightly better than Karma! It was only the second night of them being open so only us and one other table in there. Let's hope they do a bit more marketing than Karma so they stay in business a bit longer!

Had a great meal at Narvana earlier. Mrs King and myself decided against having starters and went for side orders with mains instead. Mrs King had the Modu Lamb whilst I went for the King Prawn Tawa. Both were excellent. The side dishes could easily have passed for mains as could the spinach and chickpea rice. Service was very good. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Had a takeaway last week, was very good. Bit oilly but that was mainly because of what we'd ordered. Will be going back.

Went in on Wednesday night unannounced with a LARGE group - 14 people. After being rather rudely turned down by Spice Island (The person in charge of finding somewhere to eat hadn't booked anywhere and when we turned up at Spice Island they treated us like idiots for wanting to eat in their establishment but not booking for 14 people - a polite "sorry folks but we're fully booked tonight" would have been sufficient) we were looking for somewhere for indian nommage.
Food was very nice, service was excellent. I'm not in any way shape or form an indian expert and usually only go for a lamb korma (which wasn't actually on the menu but they did make me one) but the rest of the clan enjoyed everything. And we got complimentary shots at the end. Shame I was driving!

A very nice place and I will go back!

OK, full(ish) review.

Turned up about 8 oclock last night, were a few people in but not that busy. I'd been into Tesco first and got some drinks, an absolute godsend since I stopped drinking lager as I have never found a restaurant with a nice cider! Were three of us, me and the missus and her youngest (6). We had some poppadums to start with, which the little 'un thourghly enjoyed. We then shared a chicken stir fry and a kcut mirchi (I think! Pepper stuffed with chicken, new potatoes and spinach). Both were top notch.

We weren't sure what to have for mains, as there was a lot I've not tried before. They seemed more than happy to alter dishes to suit your tatses though, which is nice. I went for the lamb Tawa (came in a small frying pan, about a madras heat), my GF went for the Modu Lamb (again, damn nice) and the young 'un had a Muglai. They made a smaller portion for her, but to be fair it wasn't that much smaller and they still only charged half the price for it. Shared a mushroom rice and a pilau.

Total bill was £40, which to feed 2 adults and a kid I thought was decent. Obviously having our own drinks helped this a lot, but I thought it good value. I will definately be going in again :)

That is the problem with Karma and now Narvana, the people of Stafford have had a lot of traditonal English Asian grub. Personally I think it is far better than the rest. I'm not saying the rest are bad but my appreciation of Asian food has moved on.

The world of Asian cooking has developed. If you go to Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham you will see a growing number of Asain restaurants that have moved away from the traditional.

Also there area number that have actually gone back to being more authentic. Proper balti houses and Indian cafes. Sweet centre that sell food for consumption on the premises.

Is the 50% offer back on? I've been wanting to try a new indian for a while (bored with Stafford Balti) and the reviews here sound excellent!
Also do they do any meal deal type things?

we ate there a few weeks ago and it was absolutely lovely.. the staff made us feel very, very welcome, without being too attentive/overbearing.. the manager, Mo, introduced himself and took the time to explain a bit about what he had planned for the place, and was a lovely chap, too..

me & ms. db shared the samosa starter, and our dining partners had some sort of chicken tikka, all of which was gorgeous.. i'm not a massive rice fan, so was happy to see a meal on the menu which included potatoes - hyperabadi (soz if the spelling is wrong) - obv's chose this and it was excellent.. can't remember what the others had, but they were all suitably impressed.. we all brought our own drinks, so suffice to say the bill at the end was more than reasonable..

basically, we were well impressed with every aspect, even more so than karma II, so can't wait to go back :D

We had a Christmas card from them and a flyer saying the 50% off main courses was back on in January. Not sure when it starts exactly or if you have to ask for it before ordering though.

I haven't seen any meal deal type thingys but you can always ask :)

We had a take away in the week, it was very nice and they gave us free popadoms and dips. Will definitely use them again.

In there now, and its rather busy! Only 2 smallish tables empty, nice to see them doing well. And despite all the other customers they still remembered what we had last time, and were happy to recommend other dishes.

Will report back when I've eaten :)

Service was a little slower than usual, but given that they were full that was fine. Food was to its usual standard, can't fault it despite being too full to finish it. Now feel fat!

Out of interest, what would you want from a website for an Indian restaurant? Not after the job myself, can't do crayons, but interested in what people look for. Not sure they are happy with the current one, and I was looking about for someone who may be able to help them.

Went in there last night and had a brilliant time. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely, and didn't mind any boisterous behaviour on our part...
