I am really gutted to here that the deli is closing. I love Greengate Deli as I believe its one of the few shops in Stafford that really showacses what great food and drink is being produced in the county. As a county town its these kind of outlets that we need to be encouraging. Obviously I would dearly like the Lewis partership to reconsider but if thats an unrealistic option I would like to see somebody else take ownership of it.

Panasonic Store closed today. "Closed for Refurbishment" on the window. Not much by way of stock in there, lights off. Deeply suspicious something is afoot.

Panasonic Store has been looking a little light on stock for a few months. Anyone know what's occurring?

Game have filed for admininistration too....so that could be another 2 closures on the cards in stafford. Perhaps the vat will affect the sausage roll shops - then they will go! salad dodgers will have to supermarket buy them & microwave them at home lol.

I think Game and Gamestation are closing on Saturday - unless a miracle happens between now and then - which I doubt. Panasonic store still empty and only a handful of shops left in Princes street now - wonder if the remaining few will close or move??

Strange! I was only in there on Friday afternoon getting info on washing machines. I asked the guy if their shop was safe with all these closures around ,as I like the service in there, and he said that he wasn't aware of any plans to close it down. He did say that he was hoping business would pick up when they have the new stock in soon and that they were waving delivery charges to compete with the competition.
It was looking more bare than usual though and only had that one member of staff present when I went in this time.

This thread makes me proud, that possibly one of the biggest threads ever to grace the Stafford Forum was started by little old me...

At the same time it makes me so sad that the most successful thread is about our poor little town constantly losing so many shops...

BTW, 25th March is one of the traditional quarter days that property leases use for rent to be paid... so no surprise to see Game and Gamestation to fold just before that date....

@Confused... Didn't realise we had a Panasonic Store :?:

http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Where to buy/Panasonic Store Dealers/1030854/index.html

Put a Stafford postcode in and get a picture of the store.

It's 14-16 Stafford Street, next to Mincher-Lockett's the opticians, just to pin it down. It's a franchise, with other shops in the group too, as far as I can remember. Wonder how they are doing?

I bought a telly in there a couple of years ago, good job the 5 year Warranty was with Panasonic themselves.

I think you will find Panasonic has shut alot of its retail shops over the past two weeks.

The one in Stoke closed last week and is empty of stock, much the same as Stafford one, not coming back from my understanding.

Glad I didn't actually order a washing machine last friday now as I had to discuss it first with hubby who was away on business . The sales bloke said that it would have been delivered to them at the Stafford shop within 7 days and then delivered to me & fitted. Would have been getting a bit worried reading this!
Pity as they were beating Comets price with the free delivery etc and we have been very pleased with the service and goods we've had from there in the past.

There again the shop has been closed several times when I've walked past early some mornings in the past and I've thought that they had closed up then. Turns out the bloke comes in by train so those were the mornings the train was late. How many other people have gone there to visit the store, seen it closed and shopped elsewhere instead?
