When I worked in a government department that advised members of the public, the wind used bring out the loonies. I wonder if that still happens...
Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Yes, but not windy days, bank holidays.
When i worked in A+E every bank holiday would see poeple come in with complaints they have had for weeks and even months sometimes, when asked is it any worse today than last week the answer most of the time is no. So why come to A+E, why not wait til tomorrow and go see GP?

There is a German wind (Fohn) which makes people go strange when it blows. Similarly there is a Swiss wind (Bise) which definitely makes those living in Switzerland become very depressed. However, it probably is depressing living in Switzerland.

It's a bit windy today, an'all. I've just had to lie all my bins down in a more stable orientation. If this keeps up, then I doubt that I'll even put the green one out for collection tonight...

I can still see the bottom of mine, as I'm not a heavy disposer. It won't hurt me to miss a fortnight - it just hurts that I've had my first monthly hundred quid taken yesterday and I would like to get something for it...

Stafford FM says that a fallen tree is partially blocking the Sandon Road/Beaconside junction, although there still seems to be the usual traffic up and down Sandon Road, and a car has hit a tree, possibly not wind-related, on Weston Road - causing some traffic delays, also.

There was a fallen tree blocking both sides of the road earlier just by the Wolseley Arms....certainly was interesting to see all the people who couldnt be bothered to get out and help just go whizzing past then nearly end up in the river as they tried to get round.

I didnt manage to catch the company name but i want to say thanks the skip lorry driver who went out of his way to push the tree back off the road with his lorry and the Armitage Shanks lorry driver who helped him.

A tree is also down in Rugeley by St Augustines church, police have closed the road in both directions.

The large signpost outside the Nesbitt has come down, but luckily it's fallen sideways onto the lawn.

It's been seriously windy in Ireland today - we might get the tail-end of it tonight.

I understand that there may be a tree down on Tixall Road, near the Crematorium - still passable with care, I believe...
