Disappointingly they serve Twinings instead of the finest Yorkshire Tea picked in the famous tea fields of Harrogate...

I think it's very lovely that they have buried the hatchet. I just wish I could be certain where it had been buried.

You could ask for this, if you get there early enough. Picked at dawn on the southern slopes of Mweelrea..

no, soz - as much as i enjoy being from norn iron, you can't beat yorkshire tea.. well, apart from yorkshire gold, natch, but i'm not swanky enough to buy that unless it's on special offer :teef:

The Moathouse does afternoon tea. Think it's a bit pricey though.

Thanks for the mention, we do in fact do afternoon tea in the superb setting of our restaurant where you can enjoy your afternoon tea whilst watching the boats go past on the canal, ducks on the pond and swans on the lawn. Keep the price a secret it's £13.00 pp - booking is essential

i think that's perfectly reasonable for a lovely setting like the moathouse! depending on what you get, obv's..

as i just mentioned in another thread, we're always on the lookout for different places to take the in-laws for sunday lunch/afternoon tea.. is this available on a sunday? if so, during which times? and what do you get for your £13?

sounds like we might be there next time they pop down from the steel city! :)

In truth I have no problem with the 13 quid, but se forumites are mor keen of the 2 for 10 quid type places Not been myself, but the good lady went wih sister, baby nephew and dad and loved it! Sandwiches, cakes/scones and loads of tea.

as much as i love a bargain, and often go to "bogof" style places, i love nothing more than paying decent money for decent grub, so this sounds like it could be something to add to the "visiting relatives" repetoire..
