Orange T-mobile network problem?

Mine had been working really well until I got into the office this morning. However a reboot of the phone and it worked all day fine.
If the mast has now been fixed there shouldn't be any issues any more... either there's still an issue or the mast is another lie...

Definitely a T-Mobile mast/network problem. Mrs Stafford Beast (who is on T-Mobile) can only make calls when on "T-Mobile Orange" but not T-Mobile. Different problem to me though - she can't get any services at all when on T-Mobile (shows a circle with a cross through it), but on "T-Mobile Orange" it connects fine.
My phone can connect to both Orange and "Orange T-Mobile", but only on the "Orange T-Mobile" network I cannot make calls or send texts. Mobile internet is fine on both masts/networks.

It's strange how it is affecting us all differently and not affecting some people at all. My two daughters are both on Orange and havent had any problems at all. I'm on Orange but get the circle with a line through on an Orange connection but can make calls and send texts on Orange T-mobile but only if I have my phone set to 2G only - if I put it onto 3G - the circle and line is there all the time. Internet is fine apart from yesterday when I couldnt connect at all but as I say that could have been because I was in wales!

Don't even get me started. Have 1 personal phone on Orange and 1 business phone on T-Mobile, service has been varying with both. Earlier I could make calls, right now I can't do a single thing (T-Mobile were supposedly aware of the issue in the Stafford area) - Sent a complaint into Orange, might cancel my contract and move back to O2.

I can't even be bothered to switch to 3g to see if it's working or not - losing the will :(
At least I get some sort of service from 2G - even if it is incredibly slow.

Interesting. In that article they blame it on a power outage - how many more excuses!! My son was told when he rang up it is because they are upgrading the masts to carry 4G. Seems like they don't know their arse from their elbow to me!

Not the official 2520th poster!
UltraSBM (who is very quiet on this forum) is also reporting the same issue with his iPhone. When he leaves Stafford he has a flurry of texts and missed calls come through.

I'm not THAT quiet!!! :)

But yes, it's definitely a Stafford-related issue. When I drive south or north of the 'ford, I get a flurry of text messages, missed call alerts, and "You have 423423 voicemails".

Of course, it's not an issue with the Network, and we are all making it up.

Still no service at all for me again today on 3G - almost 2 weeks now! Orange are waiting for me to email them when it finally works again so they can work out how much of a reduction to give me on my bill.

No reduction mentioned for me! Mine still not working on "Orange T-Mobile". I think I need to contact them again...

Phoned again this morning. The customer services operator had a chat with the "technical guys" and they said that it is known that there has been quite a few reports from people in the ST16 postcode area reporting problems over the last 2 weeks, and they're trying to find a fix for it. It is the T-Mobile side of the business that is responsible for fixing the issue. The only workaround they have at the moment is to switch your phone onto 2G (GSM-only) mode. Obviously your internet will be slow, but your calls and texts should come through. No ETA.

I've got mine permanently on 2G at the moment - just switch it over to 3G once a day to see if they have fixed the problem - which they haven't. At least it is some sort of service on 2G - bit slow though. I'm thinking of getting an old Nokia 1200 for the full retro experience :)

I just keep my phone on 2G now and only switch to 3G if I wanna surf. I'm amazed at the difference it's made to my battery life.

Seriously thinking of ditching Orange and moving to a Sim only deal with somebody else when the contract expires.
