Drove past today, all looked open and normal to me, but I did notice the UPVC bit of their sign was blanked out so it now reads Stafford Windows. Change of name perhaps?

This was on the stone forum:

"I was considering placing an order for a conservatory from Stafford Upvc but have just heard on the grapevine that they have gone bust. Does anyone know if this is so.

A friend of mine is a fitter with them. He turned up for work today and found the gates locked. So i suppose its true but thats all i know."

Possibly a 'pre-pack' admin deal if they're up and running so quickly.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Go to Glass and Glazing on Astonfields. They built a conservatory for my Mum earlier in the year and it's fantastic.

Thanks for info. Have been reccommended by friends to use Target in Stone. Several have used them & been happy. I had a price from them & was very impressed by the guy but as I'd used Stafford Upvc I had decided to stick with them.

Decided against having the cladding done, they sent me a cheque last week, refunding the deposit - bounced back from my bank today, Just rang up and told an official announcment later today, but yes into receivership! So I guess I can kiss my deposit goodbye. They must have known this when they sent me the cheque

It is with great sadness that Stafford Aluminium Window Co Ltd., after 35 years of trading within the Staffordshire area, providing a quality product and service to its customers that, due to issues beyond our control, the Comapny as been forced to enter into administration.

The directors of Stafford Aluminium Window Co ltd would like to extend its appreciation to all customers that have supported Stafford Aluminium Window Co Ltd

It would also like to thank its employees some 70 people, for their continued effort throughout its history and extends its condolences that it has been unable to continue to trade through the current economic crisis that has resulted in these actions being taken

Once again, we appreciate all of the support we have received from both local businesses and general public through the tenure of 35 years trade

Stafford Aluminium/UPVC did my windows and doors nearly 15 years ago and they are still looking absolutely fab! It's a real shame you've gone under.

They did ours in 1988 and the windows are still in good nick (not sure about the hinge mechanisms, though, which are a bit of a struggle).
