Okay, people, listen up!!! Tenshon has weaved his magic and the posters are on their way! In order to get the Garden Party word out to as many people as possible we are looking for volunteers distribute a poster or two. Could you pop a poster in the window of your local shop? Do you have a noticeboard where you work (or play)? Is your front room window next to a cash point on BTTF Square at eye level?

Anyone who wants posters please email, PM or phone me to arrange postage, delivery or collection. I shall have posters with me at Joxer's Jam Night tomorrow night (17th May), I can drop some around town Friday day, and I shall have some with me on Saturday midday in the library. I look forward to hearing from you!

An email campaign would also be super-groovy! Below is a copy and paste invite, which would be ultra-enhanced by the attachment of the jpg at the top of this page!

Weeeah! Let's make the Garden Party go with a swing(ball)! (btw - the Giant Jenga and Huge Connect 4 are booked!)

Hello there!

I'd like to invite you to a very, very special event!

staffordforum.com is a website which aims to provide a virtual focus for anyone who is passionate about our county town.

The forum's first non-virtual event, the staffordforum.com Garden Party, will be taking place from 6 - 10pm on Saturday 26th May, at the Railway Inn, Castle Street, Stafford. Live acoustic sets from some of Stafford's finest musicians, burgers from the barbecue and garden party fun and games will provide a relaxed setting for Forumites of the past, present and future to get to know each other while celebrating the start of the summer season. staffordforum.com was featured in the local press recently after one member, Sofa, gained online attention for his musical ode "Stafford Song". The heartfelt ditty, which is dedicated to the forum, was picked up by Signal Radio's Breakfast Show. You can watch the short film of Sofa's visit to Signal Radio, made by Stafford's JasperFilms, by clicking on the link below.

why is it only going on til 10pm? More hours = More Partying!
i think the 10pm thingy is to do with music/entertainments licence. what with all the nearby houses - you know what those castletonians' are like - any excuse to have whing. i think it mean the music finishes at 10 but the bar shoud be open til 11, plus your 20 mins drinking up time, whatever the usual drinking hours are. if you want to squeeze more partying hours in, may i suggest bttf square, midday, for sofa's performance of the stafford song. take with you a bottle of white lightning or perhaps a four pack of special brew?

urm, tenshon, isnt bttf square still one of those alcohol exclusion zones like vicki park (no more pinics with a cheeky bottle of rose for me!).

i know they brough it in to stop the tramps drinking in public and to kerb drunken brawling in town but you might find the local fuzz taking it off you and tipping it down the drain.

soz bud.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

it gives me great pleasure to announce that Culturegen will be present, with a selection of films and publications about Stafford. Culturegen are providing tremendous support for Stafford Forum (more news soon), for which I am extremely grateful.

The bar will surely be open until eleven, midnight, probably... The music just has to stop at ten because of noise regulations.
