Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
My mother had a new aerial put up about 18 months ago by East TV and said they did a good job.

£150-£180 looks the going rate on telephone quotes but I've got someone coming to give an onsite quote. A couple of those kind of companies have said £95 +VAT "starting" price

If you don't want to pay an aerial installer then fit your own. I put up an aerial outside my son's bedroom window about 6-7 years ago and he gets all the free digital channels. The aerial cost £20 from Argos but would probably be more now.

Any updates Scoot?

Just thought, my bedroom has freeview so the aerial on the room in all probability is fine, i have an aerial point in the living room but it's dead, no good, so perhaps i just need it checking over, that can't cost that much surely!

I looked throught the Thompson local which has plenty of companies in but opted for "Stafford :stafford: Aerial Service" . The two ladies on the phone were great and it's a full family affair.

The fitter came out today to quote and said that he wouldn't be able to get a good enough reception that he would be satisified with without a 10ft mast and booster which would cost £250-£300. He said I had the best service available to me already through the satellite.

Anyway, after all that it was a free quote and he's spent plenty of time assessing the situation and I can't recommend them enough.

I can recommend east-tv , they did a cracking job bolting my LCD tv to the wall for me.
( and the brickwork in my house isn't too clever so it wasn't easy) job was done in no time at all and everything up and running.

The workshop isn't usually open but we can do installations by prior arrangement. Just give us a call.
I called EastTV last year and was told you didn't do quotes on Saturdays or after 6 on weekdays, so had to give you a miss.
