Whats with the Stafford the 'Creative' county sign post I noticed last time I had to go to Stafford, i've never known Stafford to have a creative bone in its body, unless you're talking about St. Georges and alternate lifestlyes

exactly, the website says it all, dull and gray with some meetings scheduled at some time or other, yawn, with exception to the potteries, what exactly is the creative output of Stafford?

yeah Bizarre Inc and Altern8, two bands i was really into though

Neil Morrisy is leaning more towards the autistic rather than artistic

chicken lips from stafford? oh right, it's bizarre inc

But is there any art scene, other than studenty stuff? any alt scene?

PS. anyone know Chris from Altern8? I know Mark works in a clothes shop(?) but I would like to get in touch with Chris

would you rather it had a flashing background, animated gifs, and music playing with no option to stop, like some 15yr old's myspace page? :teef:

i hear what you're saying, though.. my parents were joking about this when i was down at the weekend - where did "the creative county" suddenly come from, and what's the justification?

is it like that time liverpool became "city of culture"? lol..

i was good friends with mark when i lived in stafford, but i completely lost touch since i moved away.. chris hasn't had anything to do with altern8 in decades..

hehehehe, no but I think an artsy web page should have a little bit of colour splashed on to it, not just the corporate gray template they used, but anyway....

that was exactly my point, this sign just appeared on the outskirts of stafford, now prize or competition winning here I'm sure they just needed a 'tagline' for the county!?

and Liverpool is jam packed full of (scousers) culture and the title is completely justified

I am also aware of the bitter split between altern8, Mark went on DJ'ing under the moniker while Chris went off to do his computer thing. He did used to have some funny stories about his ravey dayz. he was a clayhead last time i saw him

blimey, that brought back memories, I used to roady for Bill Bromley and Christeen Simcox, criss's mum and dad when they were in the group No entry, I haven't seen them for 30 odd years, if any one knows anything I would be interested too.

Chris was studying/ working at Staffordshire University up until about a year back.
Was also seen at The New Vic propping the bar up, too. Didn't his Mum and Step-Dad have that place?
