Who went along to the Santa parade then? What do we think?
Must admit, I was impressed with how festive it felt. It was much bigger in terms of turnout than I expected too. (...it's the first time I've been).

Just uploading and processing my slew of pictures.

Would love to see the christmas lights switch-on but it's just too crowded for me. The ideal viewing point would be Stantons Cafe or Boots record dept. I'll await photos......

That would have been a lousy vantage point for the fireworks as they were let off directly above there.

Fireworks were good I thought.

Panto band and singers total crap.

One very happy little girl switching on the lights :)

I've got a couple of big panoramas nearly ready, one before the light switch on and one after.
Firework pictures not great tho, sadly. Struggled to find the right vantage points with the mass crowding!

You have a sharp eye, Gramaisc.

I think this family have to take the prize for the most festively dressed:

Blog now finished. That was some labour of love!
Apologies for the number of images, it will take a while to download.

Quite extraordinary really.

The route from Earl St -> Mill Bank -> Greengate St meant that the big wheely things needed to drive into South Walls, reverse into Bridge St then proceed up Greengate St.

One was left wondering why they didn't just start on Bridge St? Pointing the right way and everything?

If there is a reason, i do hope the reason is love - otherwise i be in a state of banjaxedness. :?:

See my first thought was that it might be unconducive to the bus services en ville to take Bridge St out of play.

But then when you think about it, taking Earl St and Mill Bank out of play is to totally squash Bridge St anyway.

Surely you can fit the whole kit and caboodle between the Grapes and the roundabout? Especially if you double up?

Then i decided not to worry about it any more, beyond saying what i have here said.

Does anyone know why the nativity scene isn't outside the Shire Hall by the tree anymore? I hope it wasn't vandalised.
