There are so many cars speeding down the Cambridge Street garages access road at the back of John Street and using it as a cut-through. Some cars I'm sure go up to 40mph when ragging it down such as short road. This is too fast, as sometimes there are children playing, and animals venturing out the back of people's gardens.
I don't normally like speed humps, but I think one is required here, half way down the alley that spans across to the garages. 10 mph is enough for people who need to use this road properly (i.e. people who live in the houses and people who have a garage).

Who should I write to, in order to ask for one?

Simply print a few potholes.

I fail to be amazed by idiot drivers any more. Just queued to go through the Weston Road / Blackheath Lane roadworks, only to watch the driver of an Audi A4 partial reg BN61 decide that red traffic lights didn't apply to them after all. Best of it was , the couple of cars in front of you stopped when the lights turned red, the traffic then exited Beacon Business Park and after that had gone, then you decided to pull out and go through the red light. Frankly if that is your driving standard, I wouldn't want to be in a car with you.

Also saw a Tufnells delivery truck overtake the long line of stationary traffic to then turn left into Beacon Business Park. Good job nothing pulled out of the otherwise you'd have been on the wrong side of the road with nowhere to go.

Hope the 2 mins time saving you both achieved was worthwhile.

A34 Lichfield Road Stafford, both ways between Riverway and Ampleforth Drive
A34 Staffordshire - A34 Lichfield Road in Stafford closed and heavy traffic in both directions between the Riverway junction and the Ampleforth Drive junction, because of an accident involving car and a motorbike.

Hope the motorcyclist is OK, gotta admit I don't enjoy riding like I used to. You need to get out of town, people are too aggressive when they think they can make an extra seven feet of progress before the next light change if they cut you up. My motorbike only moves now when I have no other option, I should probably sell it but the £10/month tax and insurance make it useful to keep hold of just in case.

Just driven son and his mates down to town that way and that part is clear now.

Everyone was driving like bloody maniacs tonight and I didn't feel at all safe. No-one taking a blind bit of notice of red lights, it was just a free-for-all.

Cyclists, just why!!! I mean I cycle, but never in the dark. this is what I found tonight:

On the way to Barlaston I encountered 2 cyclists coming towards me with what can only be decribed as some sort of halogen blinding device on the front of their bike. That can't be legal surely, I mean, cars have to dip there headlights, why not cyclists? was really very dangerous to oncoming cars. Then on our return jouney I encountered one of those pretend tour de france types cycling along the A34 who thought the rear light law didn't apply to him! It's dark, you're on a stretch of road where the speed limit is 60mph and you don't have a rear light cars and lorries can see?? Really?

I'm pro-cyclist, but both of these got my hackles up!

TBH the second one sounds like a nob, but I've had so many cars 'not see me' when pulling across junctions that I'm wary of condemning the first lot. Not just on a cycle either, on the motorbike its the same. Its amazing the people that even make eye contact then magically don't see you, it is an amazing phenomena that has not yet been analysed. So for them I cannot cast blame, I'd rather some tosser in a volvo* got peed off with my headlight than pulled across me.

* Dunno why but it was always a volvo. Usually a red estate, driven by a middle aged woman. Maybe she was just a local menace!

Tuffnells drivers are by and large terrible. They can regularly be seen driving like looneys and/or with phone glued to their ear.

I've never been hit whilst cycling by anybody that didn't see me.

Got my brother one of those for his head, apparently it gets warm! Mind if I ask where you got it? Seen loads on ebay but not sure of their output TBH, at a tenner you're a bit suspicious although I guess its not much wasted.

I just got a smart 7 lux flashing thing, my knogs still work after 3 years on the same batteries but I've had a few near misses lately where I'm thinking a brighter light may help.

This is the baby! Cree T6 alleged 1800 lumens

I do dip!!!!

S

Yeah it may be 'the baby' but it so blinds oncoming car drivers that you may just end up dead when they inadvertantly swerve owing to 'the baby's' blinding them, as nearly happened to two cyclists tonight. Food for thought!

I will certainly be keeping my full beam on if approached by a moron blinding me with one of these 'baby's' again. I know whose most likely to survive a blinded by bright light's collision, and I doubt it will be the cyclist.
