Exciting Google developments

As a big fan of things Google, I thought I should let the forum know about two new developments, although most reading this forum probably already know anyway:

1. Google Camera app is now available for all Android phones. Not the best camera app in the world but what makes it exciting is the availability of the Photosphere option - tried taking one in my lounge last night and its a great feature. You can upload photospheres to Google Maps for others to view. Click on the red dots on this link to view photospheres of Stafford (or other areas if you move around):

2. Google Chrome remote desktop - not had chance to use this yet, just installing now but looks promising as a free LogMeIn replacement for accessing your computer remotely or assisting others with their computer. EDIT - forgot to say that the great thing about this is you can do the remote accessing from an Android phone!!!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Don't forget their revised terms and conditions where they now openly state that they will read through all your private emails in order to target advertising at you, and for any other purpose that they think fit.

America do that anyway, at least Google admit to it.

Anyway back to the apps.... tried the google desktop one and it works REALLY WELL on my phone, can't believe it to be fair, thought it would be pap on such a small screen.

A few posts under my belt
I've used Logmein on my phone and tablet and it works very well. I may give Google a go in the future.

Don't you have to pay for LogMeIn now?

I did try LogMeIn on my work machine but for some reason I could never connect remotely. The Google option has been flawless :)

Some info on indoor Photospheres:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/maps/_OmPlei3NRI

A (not great) example of one:

Even better than that, you could create a "constellation" (a group of connected photospheres) to create a google streetview type experience around your other half's shop....

Surprised more places aren't doing this - the shopping centre in town for example.... I know Leeds Art College do it with some success:

(scroll down a bit until you see the big picture with Google streetview type navigation arrows - the arrow pointing left takes you back to reception.

Many thanks for this information, looks fantastic, I'd love to use it for the Stafford Town Centre Partnership web site
