Hi Guys

Wanted to know if there were any takeaways in Stafford that dont serve halal meat. Unfortunately I didnt know my two favorite places dominos and Pizza express both served halal toppings.

I would rather not eat halal.

Lol I love my chicken to much, but gutted that I had been eating at dominos for years.

I refuse to eat there now as protest because at the very least there menus should say halal and people would have choice. Just like alis and alkirims dont hide the fact like dominos and pizza express were.

If you eat meat - no slaughter can be morally justified, so morally there is no difference between halal and non-halal meat. Certainly Pizza Express never hid the fact. In any case, both Pizza Express and Dominos use suppliers that stun animals before slaughter (as is the case for most halal meat in the UK), which means there is no material difference whatsoever in how the animal you ate in Pizza Express was murdered in a slaughterhouse. Please don't feign concerns about animals, because they don't hold up to scrutiny.

Or animal welfare.
I can't say I get worked up with halal meat debate as I am under no illusions that the industrial scale of slaughter houses are pretty gruesome as it is so it's splitting hair's whether stunning animals before they're killed or not makes much difference. That said I respect the views of those who are and there is a strong argument for meat to be labelled to how it has been slaughtered.

racist tendencies? what part of my post was racist?
All of it.

If you're not racist and not concerned about animals, then I can see no reason whatsoever why you would refuse to eat halal meat. You have already clearly stated that you are not feigning concerns about animals, so a process of elimination combined with the tone/content of your posts leads to but one reasonable conclusion.

Hold on , would you class an atheist's rejection of religion as racist? Or for one religion to dismiss other faiths due to their God being the only true God as racist.
Yes adam c's comments might be described as anti Islamic but surely there is a distinct difference between that and being racist.

Any denomination of prayers? do you go to the effort of finding atheist slaughterhouses? It just seems an odd issue to have - if you're an atheist, you don't believe in any god so any prayer has the same resonance to you as saying abracadabra or the like.

If you have an issue with specifically Muslim prayer that has different issues with it.

I dont have issues with Muslims (halal) or Jews (kosher) praying to a animal before they kill it. However as I dont follow these religions I believe I should have a choice of whether or not I eat Halal or Kosher or any other animal that is prayed to before it is killed.

If Muslims choose to eat Halal meat then why cant non Muslims choose not to?

Then simply say your own Christian grace over anything you eat and it will all be set right - although last time I checked the Bible it wasn't all that bothered about eating food blessed by other faiths - just some sensible good food hygiene for perishable warm countries before the advent of refrigeration.

... and if it really still bothers you, and your own magic words and magic book don't help you - then give up meat, although I've met quite a few Wiccan farmers in my time, so even in that event then you can't be 100% sure what words have been uttered over your food.
