I thought that but i love 3d modeling programs and designing and printing out will be cool, plus theres a new filiament out where its 40% wood and you can print out like wooden objects which look cool. I purcahsed two a 2 up from kickstarter but could not wait so build this open source 2nd one. plan to seel the one from kickstart when it arrives for about 300

Will do, hopfully have the extruder head built tonight then its on to checking calibration which I belive is hard as there of lots of diffrent things that need to be right such as dimensions, leveling and firmware steeper motor step stettings etc

What are u building ? I cant see because i am no longer a facebook user. 3d printers are amazing , I'd love one. Sausage like objects wouldn't be on the top of my list ofthings to build tho ;)

Hi, yes into cad and zbrush. It can support anything with the right hotend like my e3d v6. The prusa i3 is great to learn about 3d printers but needs a lot of calibration because the frame is not the best for vibrations speed etc. I'm planning to migrate to MendelMax 2 but will take me awhile to get all the required parts. Hopefully have the frame at lease next month.

@luke robinsno is your 3D printer now fully operational. If so I have a part that I could do with printing. I have an stl file, if you can use those?

If yes to both, PM me your email address and I'll send you the file and give me a price beforehand please :)
