Hello!

the Best gigs probably:
Yann Tiersen in Madrid. I saw him twice and both of them excellent!
Iggy Pop in the north of Spain.
Lou Reed at the FIB festival.
The Worst gigs definitely:
Red Hot: I couldn't even recognize Under the bridge
Air: sooooo boooring...
Ben Harper: Why does he want to play in acoustic in a huge arena??

I still haven't gone to any concerts in uk!! looking forward to it!

Hrmm.. Best gig? Defo a tossup between Nick Cave at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne about 4 years ago. Got cracker seats up near the front, atmosphere was electric and he told security where to get off when a fan tried to storm the stage. (Plus, Nick is just a teensy bit on the attractive side :P )
Or... John Butler Trio at the Big Day Out, 3-ish years ago. Got a great view, hanging onto the chainlink fence barricade at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

Worst: either now defunct band Custard at the Hi Fi Bar in 1998, we bailed early cos it was so crap. No wonder they broke up - they were shite!! or Alien Ant Farm or MagicDirt at Big Day Out. Fecking woeful, both of them. :(

To be honest most gigs in th Whiteley Building were pretty crap. I've not listed mine because 7 years or so of crap gigs at the Whiteley are hard to choose between. Though Carter stand out as being particularly bad and got bottled off.

Best gig is a bit tricky too cos my memory is so scratchy. Nirvana at the barrel organ should have been good but I have no memory of it at all, same for Pixies at the humming bird so maybe I'll have to go for Ozric Tenticals at Birmingham Uni (it was a dry gig and I remember it!)

Best, mmm ...
AC/DC, Viccy Hall Hanley (Fave indoor venue) but any one of the three gigs I saw before Bon Scott succumbed to two bottles of whiskey and his own vomit, ... or

Queen at Bingley Hall late 70's or....

Basement Jaxx (again) supporting Robbie (Birthday Present for the Venerable Mrs Seed) at Parc Des Prince Paris last year. Not a fan of either before but BJ blew me away, brilliant.

Worst ... generally love any live music, but Bowie at Man City during the Serious Moonlight tour was pretty weak, day was saved by James who were wonderful despite little encouragement from the crowd.

Worst gig - Beth Orton, although Gota quid will disagree, I nearly fell asleep!

well on the television there was a programme and on it they said they wrote 'we are the champions' in the early hours of the morning after playing at bingly hall. apparently (maybe someone could help me out?!) the fans were singing football chants/chants and it inspired them to write it. It was on a few weeks back, i didnt believe it until my dad reassured me thats what he heard come out of the tv too wow! claim to fame for neil then - part of the inspiration!

Yes young liam, (quoth Seed in a vaguely paternalistic, and yet nausiatingly patronising way, Ed) it is indeed said, that the chanting of the crowd at the Bingley Hall gig did inspire the famous anthem. The chant we uttered We are the Champions was cribbed directly from the BBC kids show of the same name, which featured schools taking part in a sort of sports day type event. The wonderful athletics coach and sports presenter Ron Pickering was the compere of the show. Its was required viewing for aspiring working class, sport obsessed oiks, such as me in 70's... Ah! happy days.

Legend has it that the rythmical clapping at this concert, also inspired We Will Rock you! Do I get another skill point Liam?

Find out more about WATC here: http://www.ukgameshows.com/page/index.php/We_are_the_Champions

Ron Pickering came to Stafford to in the 80's as part of a team of influencial people, invited by the sports council to try to persuade the good folk of Stafford to sell a little bit of Rowley Park (RP) in order to fund an all weather track, an astroturf pitch, and other improvements to the facilities at RP. They failed and I was outraged at the time, but in hindsight, they were probably right, in a few years we got the track anyway, and I now realise what a precious thing greenspace and playing fields are. Sean Kerly, the ace hockey hotshot and Olympic gold medalist, was another member of the team, but they were up against the might of the RP residents; and if you know any of the movers and shakers who inhabit St Johns Road and its surrounds, it's no wonder Ron and his posse get kicked back to the smoke with their tail between their legs!

Mr Labcm's worst ever was Van Morrisson in Aberdeen 1989(ish)
, My worst was..erm...don't really have a worst although I saw James Brown in Germany and he was a bit disappointing. Also saw BBKing (was so old but brilliant). David Bowie backed by the Prodigy, Faithless, Hot Chocolate, Climax Blues band (snogged Ian Gillan and got drunk with Noddy, brilliant night) but I have to say that the second best (although close) was Paige and Plant in Dortmund and also in Dormund 1998 my all time fave is THE WHO, YEY, they were doing their Quadrophenia tour and were absoultely fantastic. Not a favourite film previously but stage show was fantastic. At the end they did a couple of favourites one of them baba orielly, (csi) cant say how fantastic they were.

Best - Captain Sensible playing for me, cat-woman and a couple of others in the entrance at Trentham Gardens after he'd opened the Record Fair. Loads of anoraks wandering past wondering what was going on. And he signed her bike!

Worst - Sham 69 at Jollees - no contest!
