Cycle Paths

I met the Sustrans volunteer on the cycle path at the weekend. He mentioned the problems with the overhanging branches and said that they are going to try to tackle them over the winter.

I also learned that a group of ladies were proposing to hold a naturist walk along there. So if you think that the nettles are a problem for you in shorts, spare a thought for them.

I would imagine some might look like they need ironing!

Just saw my brother, who was cut up yet again this morning by some tosser overtaking him then making a sharp left turn. This was at the greyfriars T junction near screwfix heading into town. Didn't get the plate, it was a green rover looking car. He's investing in a helmet cam for the drives in now so that he can just hand the video to the police, then if they wont do anything it goes online.

Got me thinking actually, I see at least 3 traffic offences every day I reckon. Come google glass into the mainstream and I could probably lose at least one person their license a week. Wonder if there is a bounty, lost count of the amount of people I've seen texting on their phones while allegedly in control of a vehicle.

Are we still good to go?

Any more signatories that can be expected?

Just how dirty are the carrots?

Can any of these questions be hoped to be answered?

What's the name of the Prime Minister?

1. We are.
2. Any other cyclists up for a ride next Sunday?
3. Grubby
4. He Who Can't Be Named

France sounds almost as nice as Church Eaton Catabatic. I hit the lanes (sometimes literally. No idea why I fall off so often) every weekend and am always glad of company. And plasters. So perhaps we'll get a forum-quorum when you are back?

Yep, la belle Francaise is certainly floating my boat right now. Always up for a pedal round the lanes or on the Chase - this fine weather we've been off to various hostelries for early doors on Saturdays. I'll try to hook up when we're back, mid Aug, tho' things are rather hectic in Sept.
Starting to think about organising a tour de titanic, a beer in all their pubs twix Buxton 'n' Stafford if you're up for that!

If you are on a road bike, the best way might be through Doxey, then on that lane all the way to the T-junction. Turn left there for Haughton, then go Church Eaton-Moreton-Stockton. From there, you just need to go straight across the A41 to Pave Lane and Foxville.

I'm going to hold my hands up here and admit that when i read the above it was rather in the format of -

- might it be wise to further familiarise myself with the itinerary, or are you happy for me to leave some of my brain at home?

Also, any other takers?

Have been looking forward to this, hope the body is as willing as the mind. :o

Fear not Withnail. I can get lost almost anywhere but not between Carrots and Fox.

I noticed there are currently no carrots. So if anyone else fancies a ride tomorrow, set off at the absence of carrots.

currently no carrots

Perhaps somebody should put a sign up, just in case.

Pleasure likewise Withnail. A very enjoyable pedal, marred only by the absence of carrots.

My legs are fine although I did flag for a while, mid afternoon.

I hope we can reconvene late Aug/early Sept and perhaps encourage some other cycling Forumites to join us.
