Its going to be another cracking game so I would urge all Football Fans in Stafford to get down there. We also sell some of the cheapest beer in town.

Thanks for that ben0239 - really good interview with the boss there.

Any chance you could give the odd 'heads up' for forthcoming fixtures? I used to do that 'pon 'ere when i remembered - find these days that life intervenes in an insufferable way.

Can't do Saturday but will make an attempt to do as many Home games as i can.

Halesowen v Stafford Rangers

Great performance against a team two leagues higher, Rangers dominated possession, Halesowen had a ten minute spell second half when they went two up, Rangers dug in and the two late goals were the least they deserved.
The two scorers tonight IMO should be the first two names on any Rangers team sheet next season.

Neil and the rest of the coaching team are forming a very good team. It's packed full of pace on the wings and a spine with plenty of experience. Furthermore it's greater to see so many of the excellent stafford rangers youth players being picked to play in the first team. There are now plenty of home grown players in the team.

Our next game is Saturday at 3pm. Another tough test against a team in a higher league. Get yourself down to rangers and cheer on the lads.

Up the boro.

Eccleshal v stafford rangers

A youthful team to say the least, who stood up to a physical test, took some meaty challenges and didn't duck the fight when it kicked off!
Level at half time and after a bit of a brawl and Levi being sent to the dressing room we made a few changes and a typical Curtis run set up Smith for a tap in. A through ball saw Berkeley beat the keeper to the ball and as he lobbed goal wards Curtis followed in to make sure and Berkeley got reward for his effort with a header from close range, while Eccy pulled one back a little after.
Amos lasted the whole game and could well give us another squad option. Well played Nick.
No Shoota, Dacres, Cope tonight so gave more lads a chance of game time.

Next game is this Saturday against Nantwich at marston road.

As many of us say, best not to read much into friendlies. However - different set up, different team, different attitude.
Three games in 5 days, two against teams from the division above and one physical encounter and still unbeaten.
The lineup doesn't get changed too much and the tactics aren't constantly changed. Keep it up, fellas!

I will post links to the goals and post match interview later. Next visitors to stafford rangers are Telford FC who we play on Thursday 31st July kick off 1945. Be there or miss out on another excellent boro performance (fingers crossed).

Ben, can you set up a thread so all the forumites can keep up with the team throughout the season? Match reports, football highlights and interviews??

Thanks

An update on the last two games that came against two Conference Premier teams in three days.
ON thursday we came up against a virtually full strength AFC Telford United and although we put in yet another good performance, the team from 3 divisions above us edged it 2-1.
Today we came up aginst Chester City, another Conf Premier team who put out a strong line up. Coming off second best to a 3-1 defeat but putting in yet another decent performance and their own reporter saying it was a hard earned victory -http://www.chester-city.co.uk/matches.asp
No midweek friendlies until start of the season on 16th at Carlton but we play our final friendly at Rushall Olympic next Saturday at 3pm.
By then we should have our squad virtually sorted and settled.

Chester City no longer exist, we're Chester FC now, dontchaknow.

Anyway, I would agree that it was a heard earned win for us today. Our second looked like it could have been called as a foul on Shooter, i've seen them given but i'm glad it wasn't today  I was a long way away from that one and our third but that looked like it might have been scuffed, anyone down that end able to say?

After a difficult week where we lost Mike Hughes and a decision was taken to go ahead with our final pre season friendly, at Rushall, pre season is now complete and the last two training sessions will take place this week while the squad is finalised for the first game at Carlton Town on Saturday.
We lost 2-1 at Rushall, conceding two late goals after leading for mist of the game and looking OK.

The new season is upon us. A successful Meet The Manager evening in the Social Club on Tuesday was well attended and possibly one of the most positive and frank forums I have been to.
21 players are signed and apart from a couple of injury worries, we are ready to go. Carlton Town away on Saturday is our first game and tht is followed by tow home games - local derby against Norton United on Tuesday at 7.45, followed by another tough game against play off team from last season, Mickleover Sports with a 3pm kick off.
Sandwiched between those two games will be Mike Hughes' funeral on Wednesday afternoon. There seems to be a spirit around the place that we want to succeed for him, so we hope we can hit the ground running!

An opening day away win got us on our way.
Around 100 Boro fans, travelked to Carlton Town who play at Gedling near Nottingham. Ww took an early lead through Levi Reid only to concede an equaliser 20 minutes later. Dan Cope put us 2-1 ahead right on half time and Levi scored the 3rd with a fantastic free kick in the second half to wrap things up. In truth we coykd gave scired a few more but we were happy to ger our first win.
We face Norton United at home on Tuesday in what is sure to be a competitive Staffs derby.

Quite an entertaining affair at Marston Road tonight with Boro maintaining their 100% record. A 60th minute header from a fantastic cross giving us a 1-0 win in front of a healthy crowd of 483.
Another home game this coming Saturday against Mickleover - come on down!

Beating well fancied Mickleover Sports 3-1 today leaves us in 4th place as one of only 4 teams with 100% rcords. Anothr halthy gat of 426 showed people are taking notice. Now for the Stafffordshire Derby at Leek on Monday afternoon. Both teams are currently 100% with Leek top on goal differnce.

We'll have idea where we are heading in a few weeks time. I always say give us ten games to assess things. Assessment is fine so far!
