I should add that sammich toasters are an excellent way to use up most leftover takeaways other than pizza. As long as its vaguely moist just bung it in, although curry is by far the best IMHO.

I have attempted to do quite a lot of small things so far today, and each one has gone perfectly - I don't know whether to stop now, whilst I'm winning, or just keep going.....

I feel your pain, we just lost a rabbit. Only had her 4 weeks but still painful.

Only just spotted this post, so sorry to hear your sad news as well :(

It must have been the shock reaction to losing our dog, after being with her all his life, that sparked sons allergy to dogs and cats. He had never had any problems before that day, our dog used to mother him when he was a baby and they were never far from each others sides. We spent all those years staying in hotels with other dogs present with no problems, but since that final visit to the vets he can't go anywhere with pets without having an allergic reaction , sneezing and eyes streaming. He has to take anihistamines now before going out, just in case.

Thanks for links to toastie makers .Going to go for that cheapo £4.79 one from Argos....

Everything I've attempted has gone wrong today, including my breaded onion rings that I just had to put straight from packet into the oven for 10 minutes. Remembered them over an hour later ...

Come do some of my bits for me? I'm trying to get everything ready for myself, OH and Eldest to go to London tomorrow on the 05:20 (ish) train. I'm also trying to get younger spawn ready for going out with my parents tomorrow, this also involves getting my house to parental standards as they will be unsupervised in it while babysitting :lorks:. No matter how much I try, judgements will be passed but needs must.
Just off shopping now so that there is food for in the morning and stuff for the kids tea tomorrow in case my parents bring them home for it.
It would have been much simpler if they hadn't filled the back bedroom full of 'stuff' covering the beds so the kids couldn't stay over, sigh.

Not mundane at all - we went to Barmouth for the weekend, it was fab! Why has no-one told me about Barmouth before.....just the right amount of rides & arcades for the child & a fantastic beach & not too busy, best of all not having to go on a motorway to get there!......do you lot know of more places like this that you havent told me about?

Just spotted this, took a few photos when there last week of the bits I'd not done before. This particular lot were taken when we walked up the steps found to the East near Birmingham Garage, then looped around the top to return to the town:

You know, I've never actually walked up there!

No? We've meant to for a while but the eldest always moans, the youngest was happy to though. Luckily we ran into someone half way that told us we could get back down through the back of the town, we were about to turn back when we met them (as were they!). Rather enjoyed it, great views. You'll get some amazing shots with a proper camera, mine weren't bad but can tell its from a phone!

I've just spent 20 minutes trying to scrub blood out of a beige carpet....horrid cats...I got up to find the WHOLE of the livingroom & kitchen covered in feathers - it seems husband must of removed the body, but left a note saying he didn't have time to clean the rest up...

I'm wondering what the hell the cats brought in...an Albatross???

Also, never murder someone on carpet...its never going to come out!

Red wine
White wine
Vinegar
Braise for thirty five minutes
Turn regularly
Shake
And Vac
Put the freshness
Back
I've scrubbed it with a thick washing powder/water mix for now...

Red wine & White wine are just the same as Jamie Olivers fabled 'Leftover Lamb' ... non-existant in my household!

If it is blood, spray with cold water. dab with a towel and repeat if necessary. Warm / hot water may set the blood into the pile.
