i would be interested to know this as well.. i am a lazy bugger, so even though i've only got 2 small lawns i just cannae be arsed to mow them as often as i should, which means by the time i get round to it they're horribly overgrown and it just makes the job twice as hard!

there's the Gardening Services / Landscape gardener in Stafford thread, but as per the OP i'd be interested to know if there was anyone who just does simple lawn mowing in stafford for not much money :)

Hi I'm on the old lotus factory. Have rang loads of gardeners but they want more work than just mowing and quite frankly I dont want it landscaping lol. If I can find a regular mower I'd be happy happy happy as I fear i may soon not ve able to leave the house without fighting through the jungle!!

When I were with the ex, there used be a couple of pensioners who would go round mowing folks' lawns just for ale money. You could always stick a card up in your local shop? But I do have to big up our very own Neon Jay again, he did our lawn for us a bit ago. Shame it's rained almost every day since!

Hey all, if there's one thing I can do, it's mow lawns!! :)

I will not say the job is finished until the grass is looking goooood .. I hate clumps of grass that come out of the lawnmower -_-

But anyway, if you want your lawns doing, let me know! And all I'll want in return, is what Glam said other people used to do it for... ale money :)

PM me - Jamie :)

unless they got someone already, you'd have a big job on your hands. there'd be 2 years growth
yeah, but people (e.g. non-forumites) might stumble across this while googling "mow lawns in stafford" or something, so it's still handy to know!

Hi. Just wanted to bump this thread up. Contacted Wil at Red Cedar to heavily prune some trees in my garden. Turned up same day and gave a quote. Within a week job done, no mess and no fuss with a fair price. Would recommend him and his team without hesitation and really nice guys too.

I received a voicemail last week with reference to an Elm tree , unfortunately I didn't catch the telephone number and the message deleted after listening to it !
The person had got my details off here so if you are the person who rang me , my apologies . I would welcome you to contact me again so that I can see how I can help.
Regards

Is there anyone out there who can mow our lawn as a one off.

OH tried to do it today as the last mow of the year but his mower conked out.

The lawn at the back is quite long so its a bit of a job but we would really appreciate it if someone could do it soonish please.

Hi, our mowers have been wintered now but we have a smaller one that we can use if you don't manage to source someone. The lawn will not be able to be cut too low with frost present and retarded or stopped growth., particularly if it is currently in previous overgrowth.

Personally I'd say you've left it a bit too late, but I don't claim to be a gardener so I may be corrected. I always cut up until the end of October at latest then leave it till the spring.

It is detrimental for lawns to be overgrown. It creates thatching at the base. Hence why you can only fractionate it (skim the top). It is now best to be left until spring and gradually taken back down in smaller steps.
