Indian food in Stafford

I have never had any complaints with any of the currys that I have had in Stafford when I've eaten in. However, I am continually disappointed by the quality of currys that I've had when I've ordered a takeaway. The takeaways are usually bland, full of food dye and luke warm. It's got to the point now where I no longer want to order take away currys.

Do different chefs prepare the take away meals? Can anybody recommend a restaurant / establishment that provides decent take away currys?
When I lived in Stafford I always found Stafford Balti takeaways to be top dollar.

I haven't tried Narvana TekMonkey, however I have tried Stafford Balti and wasn't impressed. I should point that I regularly eat in at Stafford Balti and I think the currys are very nice but sadly the takeaways have not been up to the same high standard.

Narvana is certainly worth a try, I love the place. As you say though takeaways never seem quite as good as in the restaurant, maybe they are just best served very fresh!

A colleague who lives in Eccleshall has recommended Daru Chini, so may go there instead

Where did you end up in the end?

We're at Daru Chini tonight for Mrs T's birthday tea that we didn't do earlier this week and at London House tomorrow night with a friend who's twins and their wifes are up for the weekend and Mrs T's daughters birthday.
Currytastic week-end.

Well it literally is work, we are entertaining foreign visitors and wanted them to get a real taste of UK culture.

Entertaining? Are you doing karaoke (hope they're not Japanese) or is it your 'juggling cider bottles whilst dancing on the table' thing again..?

Take them to Simply Bilash, where the staff are so bored with not having anyone in, they've taken to driving the Ford Galaxy round Sainsburys carpark, at speed, without any headlights on. Luckily myself and the youngest were on safer ground when they swopped drivers.

Is it on Youtube yet?

Mind you, if you had just tasted Goan Fish Curry from the Tesco Finest range you would realise that competing with that is futile and head out for the river in search of a new life in the world of lamping

Whatever happened to the repository of Stafford Indian Takeaway menus? We have millions of Chinese ones but no Indian ones for some reason in our take away folder.

I went back to the Leela in the week ( St Mary's )

Food is still top dollar

Some subtle flavours and delicate notes { I know all the words,me }

Thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate from the mini pops n sweet pickles to the mains rices and naans

Sensible portions with the emphasis on spice not heat

If I am going suggest any improvements I would encourage waiting on staff to notice glasses at three quarters empty ready to replenish, perhaps decide whether to have background 'Indian' music or no - at the moment the sound is turned down to a tinny nothingness so a bit pointless

The drinks aren't cheap but the delicate ness of the food is real value for money and the actual scran compares very well to the very best in England and Ireland

Dubai has lost out

I hope Stafford appreciates what a little gem it currently has, so if it wants to keep it , it has to pay a visit very soon
