A bit of an eye opener today. A young team that hasn't been together long against a team that has been together a while and were play off challengers last season. One of those "men against boys" situations, but the difference with us today was maybe the fact that we still battled when second best and fought til the end without the lads' heads dropping. Leek are league favourites and it showed us what we have to do to match them. One deflected goal and one following a free kick that really wasn't, never helped our cause, either! FA Cup at Walsall Wood on Saturday and a chance to earn some prize money.

Bsck to winning ways today as we won 3-0 at Walsall Wood in the FA Cup. Dan Cope scoring a hat trick and Rangers again making up at least half ot the crowd. Prize money today was a very welcome £1925 and we now have a home draw in the next round in two weeks against Shawbury or Tividale.

After going a goal behind to a dubious penalty, the boys turned it round to win 2-1 at Market Drayton to go second in the table - Wynter and Edwards the scorers. Another decent away backing helped set a league record attendance for the home side. I was fortunate to get a team sheet! Programmes sold out and so did the cans of beer in the bar!

On Saturday 6th we faced another tough game as we played another play off team from last season, Coalville Town, who were one of the early favourites. Again we came unstuck with a 2-0 defeat where we had our share of play and scoring opportunities but got punished. This game was on non league day and as we had really promoted it well had a fantastic gate of 684!
On Tuesday we got back to winning ways with a short trip to Kidsgrove where we won 6-0 with another hat trick for Dan Cope. Another game we we took a good 2/3 of the gate.
Saturday 13th saw us return to FA Cup action where we took on fellow top 5 team Tividale. A tight and uneventful game saw us end up 0-0 with a replay at Tividale on Tuesday night.
The afternoon was spoiled by a theft incident where, apparently, somebody managed to get into the Tividale changing room and stole money while dumping all of their phones into a bag, along with some apparently taken from the cricket club. I have yet to hear full confirmation of the full facts but it seems they may have realised phones had trackers on so just took the cash.

Thanks for the updates!

Is that what caused the delay at the start of the second half? (I was trying to follow on twitter). Hope they catch whoever is responsible as soon as possible. This is looking the most positive season for Rangers in years and they could do without such negatives being associated with them.

Tuesday's replay saw us put in a poor performance and get soundly beaten 4-0 at Tividale to go out of the FA Cup.
In the next few days Neil Kitching made 5 signings and let a couple of players go before we played Stocksbridge Park Steels at home in the league, today.
The changes worked as we ran out impressive 4-0 victors with two of the new signings battling it out for Man Of The Match as both Stanley Mugisha and Liam Holt scored with fantiastic efforts. This leaves us in third place, 3 points behind the leaders, Loughboro Dynamo, who we visit next Saturday.

Ruddy Heck!

I don't suppose there is any chance that young Stanley is going to sign a long term contract is there?

Perhaps the County Council could make him their new chief exec?

I was at the game Saturday and it was by far the best I have seen Rangers play in a long time. (I was at the Kidsgrove match when we won 6 - 0).

The defence looked solid throughout despite Mills making his debut and Ballinger moving to Left Back and the midfield were brilliant. They battled, controlled the game and got forward at every opportunity. Dance and Holt were brilliant. The forward pairing of Stanley (the non leagues answer to Paolo Wanchop) and Wynter caused SPS problems all afernoon.

Great game topped off by 4 excellent goals, in particular the 4th created and scored by the two super Subs Curtis and Cope. Great game of football,a nd I am sure there are a lot of Rangers fans who are kicking themselves for missing the game. For me the only disapointment of the day was the fact we didnt break the 400 mark for our attendance. However we still had the highest attendance in the league.

This saturday we take on Loughborough away who are the current league leaders. If you can get down there and support the lads.

The Loughborough game last Saturday was a tough affair we should have won. 2-0 down at half time, we came back to draw level then had the leaders under the kosh and had a perfectly good winner ruled out due to a poor offside decision in injury time. On Tuesday we faced another of the top teams in a Staffs Derby at home against Newcastle Town. Another 2-2 draw with another top six side and we go into this weekend's game at Lincoln United sitting in 4th place.

We're slacking with these updates!
Since the Lincoln game we've drawn 0-0 with Tividale and beaten Rainworth 3-0, both in the league and beaten Rugby Town 1-0 in the FA Trophy to gain ourselves a first round game at Stratford and earn £2,500 in prize money. Still sitting in a decent league position of sixth, we face fifth placed Mickleover Sports away this weekend and they have won 6 out of 6 at home so it promises to be a tough one.

While we are making steady progress, we are still in need of match and match ball sponsors. If your company would like to sponsor or even chip in as a group of friends to sponsor a match (for up to 10 people) matches are £250 and match ball is £100. Email Commercial@staffordrangersfc.co.uk or call 01785 602431 for availiblity.

At home this Tuesday to bottom club Kidsgrove. All hoping very much we can repeat our victory against them from earlier in the season when we hit them for six!

Haven't been on for a long while, but:-
We won the Kid' game 4.0:stafford:, then lost in the FA Trophy 1.0 away to Stratford :xd:, then beat Brigg at home 3.0 :stafford:, then drew with Romulus at home 1.1:|, then beat Tividale 2.0 away in the Doodson cup :stafford:, then lost 4.0 away to Spalding :help:, but recovered to beat Tividale 1.0 last night in the league!:stafford:Great result IMHO, on a poor pitch, against a tough team! Going in to the testing festive season we start with a must win game on Saturday against 4th place Gresley, who lie one place above us in the league. Early days yet, but we need to stay in touch with the teams above us, and be aware that there are two teams below us, with games in hand! :?: By New Year we should know better if we have a chance of making the promotion play off's ; unfortunately I can't see us making 1st place and automatic promotion. We shall see. Up the Boro' :slayer:

Great result on Tuesday despite it not being a great performance. Another much needed three points keeps us in the hunt for the play offs. This weekend will be another tough game for the lads. To all Ranger exiles, disillusiomned premiership/championship football fans and proud Staffordians get yourself down to Marston Road and cheer on the lads. Its a cheap day out, great fun and its a great way to meet people..... and as an extra bonus this week (if one is needed), is that there is a Beer Festival in the club
