I have just been into town and saw a Scottish Flag flying just behind the old Registry Office, anyone know why?

Just along from the Gatehouse Theatre towards the Shrewsbury Arms..

There is a small walled yard behind the old Registry Office that joins to the County Council buildings, the flag pole is in the yard.

I thought that was the current registry office? Not trying to be obtuse like most of the muppets on here. I last went there to a wedding in 96. Is it no longer the registry office?

You are not alone in thinking that it is the current location for registration.

Some months ago i encountered one of our inestimable Councillors shepherding a couple toward Dolphin House, doing his bit and all that. Nudged him, and them, in the right direction - was not there to see the look of disappointment on their faces when they saw the new arrangements.

Come to think of it, he was strikingly unlike Andy Murray. Or Liam Gallagher.

He had the beginnings of a beard, no kilt and no discernible accentual 'lilt'.

She was in no way memorable.
