i ordered home delivery yesterday morning for delivery today 9am-10am. i waited in for them and it didn't show up. i've spent the last few hours on the phone to asda and my bank and im fuming.

Asda have charged me for my shopping but haven't delivered it and now they are saying that they have cancelled the order but can't give an explanation as to why. The guess i'll be refunded in about 5-10 days , but last time they said that and i waited just over 3 weeks. Asda customer service keep hanging up on me , which just p*ssed me off even more.
I woudn't have been so bothered if it was a small amount of shopping , but its really big and expensive, enough ( apart from the bread and fruit obviously) to last me a month.

so now thanks to asda, i have a big chunk of money missing from my bank , no shopping and probably a big phone bill to top it all off! will have to drag my poorly kids out shopping later, certainly wont be going asda ! stupid tw*ts

It's the power of the pound................never shop with them again, or anyone else who gives piss poor service. Hope you get it sorted, must be very frustrating :(

Write to their head office if this has happened before. Explain that it will take an extreme good-will gesture if they wish to regain your custom. You never know your luck ;)

The problem with that is that you will end up with no-where to shop!

I always find a very effective way of complaining is finding out the mission statement and pointing out how they have failed on it.
      • ASDA's mission is: 'to be Britain's best-value retailer exceeding customer needs always'.

As well as having a mission statement, ASDA has a statement of purpose. This helps stakeholders to understand why the business exists. ASDA's purpose is 'To make goods and services more affordable for everyone'.

ASDA also has a series of values. These are moral statements that help to encapsulate the company's beliefs which then determine the decisions and actions it takes in the marketplace.

        ASDA's values are:
        • respect for the individual
        • strive for excellence
        • service to our customers.

Whoops! It looks like they have failed you on their mission statement and their values.

I also found this which may be another route of complaining http://www.resolver.co.uk/companies/asda-complaints

I know of someone who airs their grievances on Twitter and finds it a very effective way of getting things resolved quickly.

They're not in my good books either. Went at 4.30 for a click and collect order to find 5 cars waiting and no Asda van. After waiting for 10 mins I rang them to ask how long til the van would be back and was told 5 mins. It took another 30 mins to arrive and then another 30 mins til it got to be my turn. I then got stuck coming out of Asda because the traffic just kept blocking our exit. Took 1.5hrs to get my shopping in the end. Total fiasco! I'll be calling Claire Barnes in the morning!!

There was an occasion earlier this year where I did click and collect only to find the van present with no driver. I went into the store to find out that somehow, there was noone in the entire building trained to do click and collect. My shopping was eventually released after half an hour of faffing on their part and I got £2 compensation.
It kind of defeats the point of 'convenience' ...

tell them you intend to charge for your time wasted, phone calls, and having to get someone to go and reshop for you

Vote with your feet - we got fed up of Asda continually IDing us, even though, even in a good light we don't look 25 - as a box ticking exercise since they'd always scanned our booze - so the last time that happened @Goldilox made me leave all the shopping. (this is slightly more awkward a move if you use your own bags to take shopping home)

Since it's closer to the side of town we generally use Tescos - haven't noticed any rise in our bills and we've found it a more pleasant shopping experience then Asda (but not as nice a Sainsbury's if we're that side of town for any reason)

I use Tesco for delivery and they're great, have done for years, no plans to switch. They offer a Delivery Saver: I've already made my money back because of it. If Tesco are ever expecting to be late they send a text with updated times (happens maybe 1 in 10 deliveries) and the drivers are always nice. Also because of the price match they offer if my shopping would have been cheaper elsewhere I get a voucher for the difference! I think some other supermarkets offer that too though.

Also I believe Tesco only charge for the shopping after delivery, but I can't be certain about that.

Don't expect this home delivery service to continue for too long with the large supermarkets unless you are prepared to pay a lot more for it. They claim it costs between 15 and 20 notes per drop.

Gutted, we use to shop online with asda and found it excellent but we've switched to aldi now and save around 10-20 a week.
