Help with drains/pipework?

Severn trent are only responsible if the pipe is shared. Anything serving just your property under your ground is not covered by them. But like already said if it's blocked ring them anyway. Chances are they will still unblock it.

I'm not sure if you have anything to worry about with your cracked pipe. What makes you think the ones below ground need replacing?

Like G said I would imagine most leak.

Like I said in the OP, I'm no expert, but when we had the manhole cover up the pipes were deffo all cracked and partially collapsed. not enough to cause a blockage, but they didn't look healthy to an amateur like me. Id rather get them renewed and sorted than wait until a potential problem arises.

Think I'll ring Bates and see if he can advise. no-one seems to know who to call to repair these but he might,

Cheers all.

Rang Reg Bates, really helpful and I straight away feel that whatever he tells me will be because it's right, not cos he's wanting to rip me off. Will let you know the outcome when I have one :)

It sounds a lot but way that against a 2 man digging team and it then looks cheap plus you know exactly were the problem is

Karcher do a very effective drain cleaner.

The nozzle has rear-facing jets and, so, pulls itself along whilst blasting the pipe totally clean. Seventy quid in Screwfix, I think.

I've considered drilling a small forward-facing hole to assist with passage through a total blockage.

I've just picked up a work zone one of these for £17 in Aldi . 5m shorter than the Karcher one and only one nozzle that you can't remove. But Still a bargain.

Just to update, Reg Bates came round, jet washed everything, and bar a little bit of cementing gave my drains a clean bill of health :) Recommended if anyone has any drain issues
