Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
A Fiat per chance?
Fiats are good reliable cars on the whole in my experience.

I had 6 over a 26 year period and in that time I only had two breakdowns and they were both due to excessive rain. The Tipo didn't have fuel injection and hated too much rain. My last one, the Sedici was a joint Suzuki/Fiat venture and you would think with the Japanese reputation for reliability it would have been the one the cost me the least amount of money but it wasn't. That was the reason I parted with it, the last two years were expensive - but it never left me stranded on the side of the road.

My Precious has had a listen and noz at me wheels this evening, reckons it's the battery. Soooooooo, we are going to get a new one tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I'll push the bloody thing to the scrappys mesen. Piggin cars.

I hope so love. I sat here and had a bit of a blub yesterday. I don't have a very good track record with my cars, really don't want to lose this 1.

I'm fully clothed now, Precious (Mummys little soldier) is on the way back from having the tyres fitted to his new alloys, so we'll try jump starting Percy Puma, then get a battery if needed. What else could go wrong???

This is turning into my own personal diary!
Well, Precious gave me a jump start, bingo! It worked! Then we drove around for a bit to put some wallop in the battery. I had the bright idea of going back to Secure-a-car to have a moan about the light that has been on since they fixed the problem of the fuel pump. (Orange one that shows if the doors are open or whatever)
The very nice young lad there had a look. It appears that there is a wire of some sort (all look the same to me) that keeps touching the body work somewhere, thus possibly draining the battery.
Lo and behold! It isn't a simple fix. Nothing ever is in my life.
So, Percy Puma is now booked in for 10 this Saturday. Until then, he is parked up not to be touched.
I ask again, what else could go wrong?

Indeed.

Also on the plus side, you drive around in a 1.7 Puma, which (rusty or not) is a very fine motor indeed. One of Ford's finest. Elderly cars always require a bit more TLC than new ones, but the TLC is peanuts compared to the depreciation on a new car AND you get to smoke around in a Puma.

Life could much worse :)

PS. not minimising the agro you feel at them moment, just pointing out that when it's finally sorted it will be worth it.

I was annoyed at them for not looking at the car when I first rang them of the fuel pump, they seemed to drag their feet, it was as if they didn't want to touch it. The young lad today was lovely (not as cute as his boss tho). Fingers crossed it will be all sorted asap.
Do you think the Puma is that nice?
Visibility is shite, the back window is no bigger than a cat flap.
You are welcome to try and smoke around in it too if you have insurance?
