Route 874 from Stafford Hospital to Cannock Hospital leaves Stafford DGH at half past the hour, and goes down the A34 past Wildwood.

How do I get from the hospital to Wildwood on the bus? Do I have to get to town first, and from what bus stop?
Cheers for that!

Anyone receive their copy of Your Staffordshire through the door the other day from the council. Truly appalling publication - but there's a walking bus in there. Get all the kiddies in a long line with hi vis jackets under supervision walking to school. Class.

Hey - theres a thought for Flash Mob - hi-vis conga line. :)

And anyone who wants to help out keeping them that way is more than welcome...

Nice one!

I didn't know that but only because they're not run from the Stafford garage. They are run from Cannock.

£2.40 single. No returns any more, but a day ticket is £4.70. The 75 also runs Penkridge to Stafford, making a half-hourly service with the 76. Train is £2.80 return though...

Does anyone know how much it costs to get from Penkridge Church to Stafford on the no.76?

Blimey! Do you work on the buses or are you a "frequent flyer" so to speak?

Cheers for that! I could get train for free so to speak, as I have season ticket. Annoyingly enough I would have to wait at the station for 50 mins for the next one after my appointment finishes :(

I too cycle to work since getting my new job on the Tech Park (I live on Castlefields).

I can cycle the 3.2 miles in 13 minutes which is probably not far off the same time to drive it. When sechools are back, I imagine it will much quicker than driving.

I'm saving a packet.

Stafford is such a small town that anyone who moans about traffic should stop and think before they do so (unless you have a reason that requires you to use a car.

Its £1.50 from Western Downs to Town, its cheaper in petrol for me to drive.
And I personally think thats crazy!

You'd most likely have to pay to park as well though, and petrol isn't the only cost of running a car.

And if you get the bus, it allows for getting distracted by a jar or two.

If you go into town every day, it may be worth buying a 'Weekly Saver' (local - anywhere in Stafford) for £13. If you use the bus to go into town and back 5 days a week, this saves you £2 compared with buying separate tickets. There is also a monthly ticket, which you can buy from any PayPoint and costs in the region of £40 I believe. If you make the journey regularly it is well worth it, and, although I don't keep up with petrol and parking prices, I am sure it makes sense financially, as well as environmentally. Also, buses are statistically safer than cars - plus you will be reducing conjestion. If it is only occasional journeys, you'll just have to put up with it like the rest of us... =(

Get a motorbike! I do 200 miles a week to/from work and about another 20 just pottering about and it costs me less than £20 a week in fuel. If a bus could compete I'd use it.

Actually, the train works out only marginally more expensive, about a fiver a week more, but it takes me nowhere near where I need to be. To get trains and the buses at the other end would double my costs and travelling time. Public transport will never compete with private unless its more attractive than having your own vehicle. And this is from someone who went 10 years without a vehicle of their own.

I work in Crewe.
I cycle 2.5 miles to the station, take my bike on the 20 min train ride and cycle 3 miles the other end.
Train cost me £39.50 for a weekly return ticket.
Good value for money and gets me there a little quicker than by car.
Door to door in around 50 mins
