Of course you do. Because you have to account for wage, insurance, travel and real life costs. Wheras loon lefty nummpty thinks that £6.70 about covers the cost of getting a serf to wait in you,

Id say £120 - £150 a day is the going rate round these parts. Numptys like the OP fail to realise that a trade is a very tough job and you have to usually train for a minimum of 4 years to qualify. what the hell makes the OP feel that they should only take home something like 300 a week after tax? Most trades are physically hard jobs and require a lot of skill even decorating. Most trades have to spend a fortune of tools and kit and replace and maintain them, they have to travel to and from their places of work with materials for the job, work their arses off for a day and some twat who sits on their arse for most of the day or filling in paperwork thinks they deserve twice their wage cus they went to uni? What a self adulating tit.

Exactly. That decorator charging £120 a day may not make much more than the Op after all their costs are covered.

Maybe it would help also if the OP hadn't removed/edited his/her post....

Slagging someone off because you think they in their manual job shouldn't earn the same who is degree educated is not acceptable!

ABSOLUETLEY NOT. I WORK DEAMNED HARD GOING WITHOUT BREAKS AND WORK OVER NEARLY EVERY SHIFT. HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST I'M OVER PAID.I DON'T CALL MY WAGE MASSIVE. WHAT I WAS SAYING IS THAT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE SHOULD BE REWARDED AND A SIMPLE PAINT JOB, WHICH ANYONE COULD DO VIRTUALLY IS NOT WORTH THE QUOTES I HAD. I WASN'T ASKING FOR A TOP NOTCH JOB, JUST SOMEONE WHO WOULD BE GRATEFUL OF SOME EASY WORK.

WHAT A LOAD OF ARROGANT, RUDE OFFENSIVE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE, AND THOSE WHO ACCUSE ME OF NOT CARING OR NOT WANTING TO BE LOOKED AFTER BY ME, SHAME ON YOU.

IF PEOPLE ON HERE ACTUALLY ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS PUT FORWARD INSTEAD OF ATTEMPTING TO BE HUMOROUS AND WHITTY (WHICH THEY ARE SO NOT) THEN PERHAPS IT WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE.

I'VE ASKED FOR MY AC TO BE DELETED AS DON'T WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS.

Well I've got qualifications, though non of them are in painting and decorating.

I'd be happy to do the job for you for £50 per day. But be warned; there is a reason I have no qualifications in painting and decorating.

Why? They want someone to come and carry out skilled work at a low price, less then they earn at least, and apparently out of principle. That isn't how the world works.

to me u all bit way to early when did we come to the way that when someone asks for help you all turn in to bitches and start being mean thats the trouble with tx and emails and that no one can tell in what context the post was ment in if she did mean it bitchy then fair enough if she didnt shame on u all.

I asked if they could do it themselves and the bitchiness flowed from the OP from there on in.

This thread is all about the OPs salary, yet they claim it's not.
The OP wants to pay someone doing work they deem inferior to their own less then they get paid, out of principle it seems.
The OP is sat on their high horse and appears to regard trades people as little more than something they would find on their shoe.
Painting to a good standard is not that easy, or even someone with a bad back could do it (although nursing is perfectly doable). It's apparently a worthless skill though.

Please, tell me more about how we set about on the OP...

It's just that the lack of any punctuation makes it very hard to read. To my ancient eyes any road.

In my defence, I would like to point out there there are at least two people who post on here that I have not found any fault with.

Probably...
