Wanted Plumber

We need a 'no job too small' type plumber to make our push-button flush cistern stop constantly over-filling and replace washers in four taps.
Any recommendations?

For a little job like that I would use Martin Stafford. He came out and fixed the leaking waste pipe on the bath a few weeks ago. It was something like £40, but I know the part alone would have been like 20 quid. Its not worth me messing about with stuff myself for that kind of money.

What's wrong with it and type of shower is it? Electric or a mixer valve? Electric showers are usually fairly easy to swap but if it's anything other than a bar mixer you may be better off trying to repair rather than replace.

It's a thermostatic valve that's gone. (Mira ) It's only a year old so want to change it to a Bar mixer shower. Kids complaining it too cold for them.. what you think I should do

If it's warm enough for you, just change the kids.

It might be possible to just adjust the valve. If it's warm but not really hot.

You can usually make them turn more hot if you take the dial/handle off.

No not yet ws havent. Think its best to buy a new one and get someone to fit it.

The reason I say it may be worth trying to fix it or maybe just adjust it if thats all thats needed is because to change a mixer valve isn't usually straight forward. If its exposed it shouldn't be to bad but is its a valve built into the wall it usually means taking tiles off. If the valves only 1 year old I would guess it's probably not actually broken just needs the temperature range altering. If you want to want to give me a ring on 07915065842 I can come and take a look to see for you and adjust it if needed/possible and if not give you a price for replacing it.
