For my sins, me. I thought the same as you - but now it is mostly utter tripe, but, I did help find a little lost dog through it & sometimes the info about what's happening in the local area is useful (if like me you're very nosey but don't know many people). I've just not been able to bring myself to get rid of it.

Ssh, don't tell anyone but yes I do. I initially started following it with the thought that I would get to see what was happening in around stafford and its surrounding areas. So far all I've got to learn is that there are an awful lot of anonymous staffordians having relations with someone else's partner. There's lots of posts that go.something like 'VD is seeing STD behind HIV's back and I ain't joking' blah blah blah

Yes it would make you think twice if you were viewing it trying to get a feel for the area, but then again I love stafford have left a few times but always end up back here, however I'm sad to stay it has changed, people are changing they are more aggressive towards one another.

I am as guilty as anyone. Like a localised version of Jeremy Kyle I have a quick look. Feel dirty for it and then go look at something less aggressive.

All the previous ones in this thread I could view without an account; but wish that I hadn't.
I'll stick with the forum, but will remember those Facebook pages and use them as perspective when someone new joins us here and starts complaining that we're crap, as in the painting thread.

The SS group is small, but public - the Riverside group is much larger, but closed, as a result of it being felt necessary to have some control*, I presume.
*Anybody that spotted the recent comment about the Chief Constable's letter box (still there on the old Register Office in Eastgate Street) will understand the requirement for some vetting....
