The service isn't the fastest but it's not that slow in my opinion. I've been twice and both times the food was definitely worth the (short) wait.
Edit: Definitely go for things you've never heard of before, I have done this twice and been blown away both times by the flavour.

Could we have some ideas of what is on this menu for vegetarians please? I'm very tempted!

Your starter will be a mix starter( you can request a veg option) , you can chose from a list of mains, it does have a mix vegetable curry & there is a veg/Mush Biryani, if there is something else you specifically want, please let me know and i will allow. Shaz.

The Island Masala Fusion Restaurant has been chosen to represent Stafford constituency as one of the 13 national finalists in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition.
The competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country. The winner is chosen from a list of restaurants that have been nominated by local MPs.
The Island, located on the Lichfield Road, was nominated by MP Jeremy Lefroy and progressed through to the final following a blind taste test by members of the Tiffin Club, who run the competition, beating off 121 other nominations.
Commenting, Jeremy said: “I am delighted that The Island has made it into the final of the Tiffin Cup 2015. This is a very prestigious award and I will certainly be there on the 27th October to cheer them on. I am sure everyone in Stafford will be rooting for our restaurant to be crowned the 2015 champion.”
The Grand Final will take place in the Houses of Parliament on 27th October and will be judged by some of the UK’s leading experts on Asian cuisine as well as celebrity chef and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ainsley Harriott and Nina Wadia from BBC’s Eastenders
