Hmm, maybe we need a FOI forum! We could all post what we've asked, and if they bother to respond what they have to say. If nothing else it will be a paper trail of how shit our council are at providing information. Whats the best way to submit a FOI?

Yes - it states the following

"This application has been referred to Committee as the property is currently owned by Councillor F Beatty (Ward Member for Chartley)"

Parish council's comments on 14/21135 at Jan 7 planning meeting are even more incredible. Recording of this one also edited at crucial stage (allegedly).

Extremely concerned with the apparent process abuse linked to this application • Someone had issued a directive for the planning report to be completed by 12 December in order that the application would be heard today • The unusual haste related to the inside knowledge that the site will be outside the RDB raises my anxiety • These issues need to be examined in conjunction with the conflict of interest associated with this application ie Councillor Heenan’s position as an Officer of Inglewood Investments Company (the Owner of the land) which costs less than £50,000 and his fiduciary obligations to maximise shareholder value which conflicts with his duty to represent the interest of his constituents • Elected representatives have a moral obligation to look to the interest of our constituents first until the issue of conflict is determined.

He didnt realise he was doing anything wrong and said sorry god dammit, what more do you want? Eh? Do you want him to say sorry again? Him being a mason has nothing to do with him being let off the hook you know! Theres nothing to hide here, leave him alone. As for mrs Beatty, its obviously another mistake. Theyre not robots you know!

"By law, the Council must produce an accurate record of all decisions taken and recommendations made by the Council and its Committees and Panels"

They have. It's a joke decision with no logical backup but they have clearly documented that councillors get what they want and us peons can get lost. A 150% increase in size is somehow proportionate to her building, despite proportion and % being remarkably fixed measurements, and will make a great test case going forward for anyone else getting planning refused on grounds of over extending.

This is in danger of descending into a miscellaneous muck megathread, so I'm tempted to close it (see reasons here). I'll leave it for the time being, but if you have something other than a "Nudge nudge, wink wink, what's going on here?" post that is deserving of its own discussion, please start a new thread.

I know a fair few people who work at the college in some capacity or other, so have heard over the last couple of years how things have gone downhill rapidly from ALL of their perspectives. Stafford College used to have a good reputation...big shame, and complete travesty.

This deserves its own thread.

This is a perfect example; what is happening at the college should not be allowed to be swallowed up in a thread that many will not even read.

Thanks. :)

He's the Cabinet Member for Economy , Environment and Transport maybe he will use his knowledge and experience gained in other fields to secure change and good running practice at the college. My main concern about this is that he is conservative and i would be tempted to ask what in it for him.
