Thanks a lot. That's still not great tho is it. I used to have full signal all the time. Which new mast are you referring to being switched on? The one by co op on Baswich lane?

Hmmm no? Isn't it the one sort of opposite the old police station? With all the baffling around? I'm sure someone posted about it being switched on not long ago - but I can't find where...

I'm on EE/Orange, although I'm the other end of town (N'orff End). The signal has been better since they switched on the new mast, I get between 2 & 4 power bars now whereas before there was no signal at all on most days...
I used to have dealings with a house just up from you, my Orange phone would only work upstairs, in the back bedroom.

@Princedomino The cellular equipment has been removed from the old Police HQ for ALL networks so there is no signal from there now.

There is a new EE mast by the Co-op at Farmdown Road/Baswich Lane. There is also a temporary mast on the Cannock Road near the big Co-op/Wildwood pub but I don't know which networks it serves.

Thanks B. I thought that I'd read on here that the mast at the old police hq had gone. I think that's when my problems began. I also read on here there was a new mast at Farmdown Rd and that's helpful to know that it is EE.
I thought there was a temporary mast by wildwood but as you say we don't know what network.

I think this is it now. If you live on the outskirts of Stafford then you can't use a mobile phone.

What a 3rd rate town this is becoming.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Was over at the shops on Weeping Cross the other evening where reception of late has been poor. I noticed that my phone had all five bars lit up so out of interest did a speed test and got 15.5 meg download and 2 meg upload. That's pretty reasonable considering it isn't 4g round there on Three. Obviously something has improved somewhere as I used to struggle to get much of a signal at all.

We were laughing at the fact on the C4 show " The Tribe" they were having more success using their mobile phones in their remote village In etheopia than we do on Wildwood, its rediculous x

We were walking past the Cannock Road mobile mast last Wednesday afternoon last week ....no bars at all at that time on EE! (Only got my phone out to look as we saw a man going in with what looked like a petrol can).

There was a sign on a lamppost opposite last week that was something to so with telcommunications. I'll have a look in a bit to see if it's still there......

Still the same on Three - no service on Weeping Cross, the closer you get to Baswich the better the signal as the mast on Baswich lane when on top of it gives me full bars but it doesn't seem to have a very good range...

The new planning application sign that was opposite the mobile mast on Cannock Rd last week has now gone. Just the tags that were holding it on the lampost still there... (Was some communications company but can't remember which one)

Has anybody thought about asking what network New Horizons is using?

It seems to be working quite well in quite a remote location.
