Me and Anders Panders are going in September. Can anyone recommend anything really good, that isn't one of the obvious things we'll be doing anyway (Empire State building etc etc)?

Can't wait to go to:

a) the BAPE store
b) a massive comic shop

I was quite impressed with Wall Street when I went. You could draft up a list / map of rubbish movie locations 'The door to the MIB HQ in Battery park' that kind of thing.

Empire State might be more famous but the Chrysler Building is far more impressive architecturally.

Pretty mainstream though. Like I said, we know what the obvious things are. Was after more alternative ideas.

Tribeca Grill, in err, Tribeca. Robert De Niro's restaurant situated on the groundfloor of his production company offices. It's the mutt's nuts but very, very expensive.

Going from 15-20. Unfortunately I hate salsa dancing.

As demonstrated here, I've been looking for events, but all the best ones seem to be happening all the time except for when we're actually there. Might see if I can find a hip hop tour or something when we're there though. Where did you find these?

There's one of those hip hop tours every day. Could go on 5 of them. Might meet Kurtis Blow. I'd ask him about that weird Christmas tune he did.

Don't bother trying to walk up the statue of liberty...takes hours!!!!! but worth a visit at ground level. the staten island ferry is great for free views of manhatten......used to work there in my teens and there are far too many places to go......to mention here but...........saks is worth a vist for the posh toilets ....errrr........the toy shop on 5th avenue where they filmed the scene from BIG with Tom Hanks.....errrrrr...new york public library....walk in and shout..."hey, anyone seen a ghost?" like I did, being a ghostbusters fan.......also you MUST see the National History Museum in central park...... well worth the money and great for a rainy day!!! loads of stuff there!!!! Strawberry fields is nice also.....buy a candle for mr lennon......blah blah....ENJOY :D
