I actually managed to sleep fairly well last night in the end - I used on of the Andrew Johnson audio apps on my phone (the Deep Sleep one), actually seemed to work!

Let's hope we can all get some decent sleep soon

Actually started to doze off in the chair today after no sleep since Saturday night.....next few seconds I was woken back up with a jolt when the front door was being hammered like mad by a delivery driver with a parcel for next door  Didn't bother getting up to answer it as I'd gone sick and dizzy by that time and they still stayed there for ages banging the glass of my brand new door :grr: Couldn't relax enough to sleep then , I was shaking so much.

Got a few ciders cooling down to knock me out later, but will be awake again in the early hours if son manages to let me know he's arrived OK in Japan.

Looks like there will be no sleep for me tonight, next door but one seem to be holding a massive party for a load of teenagers.....at least I think they are teenagers.....the last lot that turned up looked more like drag queens....

Definitely not going to be able to sleep again tonight. :(
Son landed in Japan at midnight...great ...then get a call to say the paperwork for the £376 Rail pass the travel agent sold him isn't valid. They haven't given him the correct voucher so the rail office won't issue the pass over here. He's had to fork out a fortune to catch his trains today. Can't do anything this end til the travel agents open at 9am . Feel sick :(

Nixon Garden Neatness
Really having a bad night tonight - been to bed twice got up twice - just can't seem to switch my brain off. I've gone from moving the exsisiting shed to the bottom of the garden - measuring the area needed for a summer house - buying a summer house visulising the whole design and the layout of the furniture inside it - to moving the small pond - then to moving all the gardening stuff into another shed. Then couldn't stop that song by jess glyn going around in my head. Got up again another hot choc with more baileys in and surfing the forum.

Can't see me getting much sleep tonight, fully wake awake at the minute :(

Sadly depression has caught up with me - I'm hoping the doctor can help out, and fingers crossed that'll also help with sleep - in the meantime it's time to surf the forum and play silly games on my phone...

Cats are good for sending you to sleep, the sound and vibration of their purring soon knocks me out, however they are the worst kind of alarm clock to have as they are up with the birds and expect you to get up with them. :cops:

In my experience. ..

The best antidote to feeling low is nature

And if you are able, exercise

Combine the two and you have twice the benefits

Walking in a rural or semi rural environment on a daily basis, whatever the weather, gets you close to what humans were designed for.

2.Social interaction

Re the sleep thing

No white screens after 7.00pm
No caffeine after 4.00pm
Low alcohol

2 Penguins?

I have a friend who is obsessed with Penguins - I'm convinced she's probably got some secret pet ones stolen from a zoo hidden away somewhere...

I've tried going for walks, and running

The social interaction bit is where the troubles lie - being shy, single and feeling low is not a good combination...

Still, at least the heat has died off a bit - might make sleep a bit easier!

Quite a lot of people feel shy or uncomfortable in certain situations.

However, if your shyness is really holding you back and impacting on your life ...have you thought about taking steps to "not be shy"?

Or to find a way to deal with it?

A really good hypotherapist can help with this.
