Won't the council resurface at the end of the big dig-up(s), at the cost of thousands of pounds, like a good little council?

...is that not how it works?

Have they started the works down Radford Bank yet? Hubby didn't come back that way, but said it seemed to be flowing down the bank ok from Weeping Cross islands when he came home last night. Had a walk down by the duck pond last night, and traffic by The Radford seemed to be flowing as usual in the distance.

No roadworks at Radford Bank today, but the usual mess/ slalom works at Weeping Cross without synchronising the lights *sigh*

Hubby has just arrived home ....says there is now a sign on Radford Bank saying 'Road Works Here from 26th August' instead of the 24th Aug one

They must have been lost what to do with the traffic lights that appeared on Cannock Road for no reason last week , and then taken down a few days later. Same thing down Lichfield Rd between Walton Garage and Walton Village Hall today. Half the road closed off with 2 way lights operating, but absolutely no evidence of work going on there both times I walked past this morning.
Then the road works from Knowle Rd to Hillcroft Park had the usual 2 way traffic lights, but with additional manned 'Stop' & 'Go' signs as well a few yards further down the road towards Lynton Ave while they started digging a new trench half way across the road.

An ambulance had some fun on Beaconside earlier. It had to wait for a huge crane being towed (very slowly) to get out of the way. In the process of going down Beaconside the crane truck had to go up onto the kerb chewing all the grass up and it's taken out a signpost too.

Absolute nightmare tonight well from about 4 pm really. Took us 1 hour to get from Sandon Rd to st George's.. turned back in the end. Worst I've ever seen. And stupid woman in front who blocked the road. And when someone told her to move over she clapped at him... odd

Enjoying a drop of red.
What was with the traffic this evening queues everywhere?
Temporary traffic lights now on Radford Bank until November I believe. A right farking mess this evening and as I had the trailer on, no way of turning round to use a back road home.
