Hopefully the start of the migration to the south of town with the new development this could become prime retail.

I hadn't heard of Terraces. Is it expensive clothing? I had heard of Pandora - their charm bracelets seem popular even if they are expensive.

Good news for town if two new retail outlets coming in

There is an impressively strong worded letter on the windows of Hadleigh Fine Gifts - the previous owners of the Pandora concession in town - it would appear there were plan ahead for a Pandora concept store - whatever that is - in their shop but then Pandora decided to open a standalone store in Stafford and remove their concession.

I can only imagine that was a letter drafted and redrafted to remove the swear words a lot.

Terraces do indeed stock high end mens clothing - http://www.terracesmenswear.co.uk/ - what's nice is they are a local 'chain' - their main store is in Hanley.

what's interesting is both of these are sporting 'luxury' brands - and fit happily along side other existing high end brands already on the high street (Monsoon etc) - It's interesting to see Stafford develop in this way

Went into Terraces at the weekend - lovely rennovation of the place both upstairs and down. A lot of clothes that I can barely afford though - saw a nice winter coat... for £450! :(

The lad behind the counter said they have also taken over Lapel in Market Street.

EDIT
Oh and I don't know if it was launch weekend but if you spent £75 or over you got £20 off.

I suspect that will be for the child's version 'Tiny Terraces'

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Pandora have shafted Hadleigh good and proper. Obviously they can do what they want but to plan a store in conjunction with a successful local retailer/Pandora stockist and then withdraw at the last minute is not good business practice. Most people will not care though.

Indeed - but that's always going to be the gamble if you take on a concession / franchise - I'm sure they'll adapt, stock more pretty Thomas Sabo stuff for instance, or bring in new ranges to the town.

Bit of a bugger that they'd not long ago revamped the whole shop around the Pandora brand, you'd think Pandora may have mentioned it before they spent all that money. Although in business I guess shafting your rivals is par for the course.

A few posts under my belt
I don't know the politics behind the scenes, but on the face of it it's great news that there are new, quality stores opening in the town centre. Hopefully the first (and second!) of many.
